She was right, there was no way to avoid it.

This totally reminded me of my son's ultrasounds. I was having weekly ones done due to my pre-eclampsia to check his growth and amniotic volume.

I would lay down and assume the position, the tech would get out the goop, and WITHOUT FAIL the first place she would put down the wand, there he was, waving his little winky around. It didn't matter if she went to a different side at all. It's like HE KNEW he was on camera and wanted to show off the goods. ;)

Needless to say, he's still the same and is a total pagan kiddo and loves to run around naked. :D

Nothing like forgetting to post what we're having THIS TIME. </mommy brain moment>

Like our son, we wanted to find out so that we could get an idea of who this little person is...

When we went in for our ultrasound, we were really excited and hoped that we would be able to see the bits. Before we started, the tech realized that we should have been categorized as "High risk" (like we've been saying all along... but that's a whole other rant right there) and should have had a more thorough ultrasound and that if she did one that day, it would just be pointless because we'd have a better scan later on.

We were really disappointed, so she gave us a brief scan to make sure there were the correct number and array of parts in the correct position, and she did her best to find out if we had a taco or hotdog. Our little Ninja was definitely practicing concealment, so she guessed that it was a girl, but wasn't quite sure.

The next day, I went to the second ultrasound by myself seeing as how DH couldn't get released from work in time to go with me, and the Ninja was in perfect position for revealing the bits. The tech zooms in and says "Do you see it?" and I'm like, duh... what am I looking at? She says "It's right there!" and I'm looking at the screen and thinking "WHAT is right there? Twig and giggleberries? Clam shack?  Rifle and grenades? Taco stand?" I seriously had to have her tell me because I had no idea what I was looking at... which turned out to be The All-American Pink Taco Stand. :D

My husband really wanted a girl the first go round, and even though he was disappointed when he first found out we were having a son, he is super glad that we had our son first, but he really, really, really, really was hoping for a girl. When I went to see him at work, he was really excited.

I put on my sad face, and said to him "You're going to be upset..." He got this sad frown on his face and so I put the ultrasound pic that had the girly-bits circled with "GIRL!" written on it, and said "You're going to have to buy a lot of rock-salt for those shotgun shells you're going to need to chase all the boys away from your cute little daughter." He got the biggest grin on his face, picked me up, spun me around and gave me a big kiss. He's still on cloud nine. :D

Congrats to you, too :) I'm looking forward to shopping. I'm not a pink person, but I will be helpless to resist when shopping for this little one ;)

I'm not a girly person and never wear pink. When we were pregnant with our first daughter (this will be our third) my mom said "Is it okay if I buy a few pink things??" I laughed and said "Please do!!" My oldest daughter is girly girly and DH actually nicknamed her "pinkie". I love pink on girls!! I told DH yesterday that I'm already thinking about baby's first Easter Dress. Those little dresses are so cute!!

Girl!

She was being shy at first, but we got to see her, and her heart rate was 162 and when i saw her and knew the heartrate i knew it was a girl then, so wasn't surprised when she finally uncrossed her legs. healthy and looks like me hahaha, no really I could tell, she has my nose! I could tell with ds as well that he was going to come out looking like dh. Of course she'll probably be tan and dark hair and eyes, but i think her features will be more like mine. Ds was hoping for a brother, oh well, he is taking it well, he can still buy her a dinosaur clothes if he wants.

It's a GIRL!!!!!!

AGAIN.................

hahahaha - j/k

I am actually pretty excited its not a boy - I am just sooo set up for girls at this point. I only feel a little sorry for my poor hubby. Oh well, he adores his girls and they adore him.

PLUS - its his fault anyways ;)

I totally canNOT figure out my siggy - ugh!

wow, this appears to be turning out quite the little girlie page! Congrats everyone on your girls!

AND

ADD ME!!

We already knew baby B was a BOY

Found out today, baby A is a GIRL

I'm thrilled. I would have been happy with any combo, TBH, but one of each is just lovely.

(I'm esp excited, as 19mo DD has some fab girl things that I'm so happy to be able to use again. I know that's a kind of superficial reason, but, there it is. and I'm kind of an anti-pink person. Most of it is kinda neutral in a girlie way, which is so fun)

I assume it is smilies you are having issues with? (I can't see them in your siggy). I think they don't work anymore if we write :code. You have to pull up the click list and click on the smilies you want. Hope that helps.

I'm pretty decided ours is going to be a surprise unless I have some extremely essential reason to get another ultrasound which I sincerely doubt. Had one last week but I was only 15 weeks and it was at an early pregnancy center so they aren't trained to figure out the sex of the baby at all.

Wow, congrats to all the girls! We are having a boy.  He is perfect and healthy!

So we decided the night before our ultrasound that we would find out the sex if baby cooperated....and it looks like we'll be having another boy! This will be the 8th boy in a row from my side of the family. All of them will be under 6 years old....what are the chances of that?? DS1 is super excited to have a little brother....actually I don't think he cared either way.....as long as it was a baby and he gets to be a 'big brother'!

Congratulations on the boy! I love having two boys. They play together so well. And now our little girl will have two big brothers to watch out for her love.gif

Your side of the fam sounds like DH's. There are six boys all within about 7 years, then finally a girl, and now another.

TNTmom -

Wow, lots of boys. :) My hubby's mom had 5 boys in a row within an 8 year period and then 2 more pregnancies with 3 girls to round out the family.

We found out that we are having a BOY!!! It was super obvious as soon as she put the wand on my stomach - full shot ROTFLMAO.gif DH is thrilled, he wanted a boy eventually, and I'm thrilled because I just KNEW it was a boy! 18w6d today and baby measured 19w5d averaged out, mostly 20w+ but with a small head, like DD had. Now off to craft and sew some super boyish diapers!

We found out today that we are having a boy & a girl :)  My DS guessed 2 boys & I am so glad that we are finally having a girl :)

However, the heart rates were: 142 for the boy & 141 for the girl.  So, I didn't know what to expect as far as gender was concerned, except for my dreams of a b/g combo after my 9 week appt.
