language instruction for early elementary?

I'm thinking of offering a beginning Spanish class for my homeschool co-op. It would be one hour a week for 6 weeks. My goal is mostly exposure and interest-building, but we'll practice a few key phrases well. How does this sound as far as scope and sequence. This would be ages 5-7ish.

Week 1: Making friends
What's your name?/My name is.....
How old are you?/I'm ___.
number words
friends
boy/girl

Week 2: Words to Learn By
"school" words [pen, pencil, crayons, books, etc. and write, read, color, paint, etc.]
colors
What color do you like?/I like ...
review number words

Week 3: It's My Birthday!
months
days
seasons?
toy words
When is your birthday?/My birthday is.....
review saying your age and color words

Week 4: My Whole Self
body parts words
clothes words
My hair is ...../My eyes are .....
action words: sleep, run, sit, climb, jump
review color words

Week 5: All In the Family
family members
words around the house
food words?
Do you have siblings[ or cousins]?/I have ___ siblings/cousins.
review number words

Week 6: It's a Zoo Out There!
animal words
What animal do you want?/I want a ......
What is the animal doing?/The animal is ....
review action words

I plan to use a combination of stories, songs, and games, and send home a sheet of the vocabulary we've covered for reference.

How does it sound? Am I crazy?
By the way, I am not a native speaker of Spanish, but I studied it extensively in high school and college, and used it extensively in my work until my son was born in 2004. I've been told my accent is good.

It sounds lovely - wish my family could participate!

Looks good to me. I might review something specific consistently though--like the numbers and colors every week. That way, after the six weeks, they will still have something they can say without help. If the parents aren't reinforcing the vocabulary, it will be lost so quickly and they take pride in doing something simple --like counting in another language.

Oh, and IF at all possible--provide a recording to go home of the vocab too. I don't speak Spanish and trying to help my kids figure out how to pronounce a word is challenging to say the least.

"How are you?" "I'm fine" would be another good weekly review. Even just you asking the class and the kids hearing the one kid who remembered saying it.

I'd also teach at least one thing that's specific to them. "I'm homeschooled." "Are you coming to park day?"

Something that might be relevant to the whole group, but not so relevant to anyone else.

And something silly. Like "mom/dad, please buy me a dinosaur, I will take care of it every day."

To help the parents with reading Spanish teach the kids:
A E I O U , arbolito de Perú, cuantos años tienes tú?

That'll get the vowel sounds and the enye

Thanks everyone!
Adding the "Buenos Dias" song would address the How are you?/I'm fine review. I'll have to brainstorm about the other tips. I'm trying to sketch it all out before I offer to teach it just so I know I can do it!
