Lactation Consultant Requirement question

Thread Starter
Does anyone know if a CNA(Certified Nurses Assistant) is exempt from the 2012 class requirements to become an LC? It says Licensed or registered health professionals are exempt from this requirement and must provide a copy of their valid license or registration.
I'm considering it and I emailed them to make sure but figured I would check here to see if anyone knew.

I doubt CNA is included in that list. I'm assuming that health care providers that have previously taken those courses while obtaining their degree (RN, MD, etc...) are excused. The new requirements are going into place to ensure that IBCLCs have basic medical knowledge.

They will get back with you, results just came out for the 2010 exam so they might be swamped with emails at the moment.
