The 9 weeks rash, help!

Hi mamas,

I've had a rash under my boobs for about 9 weeks. It started out itching so bad that I woke up scratching. I still do sometimes, but it's chilled out. Well, a few days ago, it started having that hurt/itch and is now a raised rash.

I've tried monistat, aloe, keeping it as dry as possible and now baby powder. I have no idea if it's yeast, but if it was, it should of responded to the monistat, right?

PLEASE, any ideas are so appreciated!

I had this with dd2, in my case it was yeast. I removed all sugar from my diet and kept the area as clean and dry as possible with some gold bond powder and it cleared up. Oh, and I wore cotton sports bras instead of underwire, that seemed to help as well.

It sounds like yeast but I think vagina yeast (monistat) is different than thrush yeast maybe? I think genetian violet is the protocol for thrush but I would ask your midwife. And actully baby powder that contains corn starch is not recommended since yeast likes to live off of corn starch. I would pop over to the nursing forums and see what the standard is for thrush. Sorry.
