Is my baby on track? How can I help her?

My baby is now just 8 months old. I feel like she should be doing more by now. She is sitting up, but I still place pillows around her so she doesn't smack her head on the wood floor, which she has done. She does tip over, but not always, more often if she's wearing a sposie or naked.
She hates being on her tummy and will roll over, usually just one way, and then just lay there and fuss until I sit her up. Then most times she doesn't want to sit, but wants to stand, and I help her pull up. She has initiated pulling up on my leg sometimes. She is not crawling, not even close. She has a few times leaned forward and put her hands in front of her.
And just the other day she said bababababa. She doesn't do any other babbling like that. No mama or papa or dada.
Any advice? TIA

The physical stuff sounds like my DS1. He needed the boppy if he was sitting by himself for awhile-he would just get distracted and forget he needed to work at sitting up! He didn't crawl until 11 months, but walked two weeks later. I wouldn't worry-each child does things at their own pace. If you are concerned you can talk to your Pedi, but nothing raises any red flags to me.

I basically asked the same question when I read a blog of a girl with a 6 mo who could do all sorts of crazy things. The post is still being added too, I think its called "can your 6 mo do these things" in this same section. I found everyones replys interesting. My ds sounds similar, except he is crawling. I have come to figure they are all moving at different paces.

My babies stay babies for a long time. Now it's the third time around, so I'm loving it.
All three could hold their heads up the minute they were born and were very sturdy but.....
None of them could do the things in that other post going on right now.
Mine were the same as yours at 8 months. They didnt crawl till 10 months or walk till 13 months. They were happy, fat, healthy babies.
They just hang out, like to be held, observe what's going on and babble.
None of them wanted food until about 1 yr old. I think some babies are just in that infant stage longer.
Now my big ones, 5 and 7, are happy healthy kids.
NO worries, enjoy it.

Yes, I did see that, which was part of my reason for concern. Not that my babe should be doing all of those things in the blog. But maybe "talking" more or at least sitting without me placing pillows all around her.
Her sister, now 4.5, didn't really crawl for that long before she walked, and that was 13 months. She also wasn't super into food until then too.
I just can't remember exactly when dd #1 crawled or sat up really good. No baby book for those dates, doh. Maybe she be like her sister. Dh is not concerned.
