Prairie Clothing (Little House)

I want to make hats and dresses (and maybe pinafores) for my girls to play in. They love make believe. I would like to make these for my girls for a holiday gift. The hat I'm talking about has a big brim, and ties under the neck.

Are there free patterns, and where is the best place to get fabric for these?

I bought this pattern at a thrift store, but it looks like it is out of print.  I've never used it, so I'm not sure how they turn out.

I don't know where you could get them for free, but I thought this one would be great:  prairie girls by McCall's

Sometimes JoAnn Fabric will run a sale where you can get these patterns for as little as $0.99, you just have to watch for it.  Right now my store has these on sale for $1.99 in store.  If you have one near you, you can go to their website and find the sale flyer for your store, then watch for it or get the sales emailed to you.
