Eye infection in rescue kitten. Homeopathic remedy?

A lady we know is a foster mother for rescue kittens. She just got one whose eye is terribly infected. The pink part under the bottom lid is swollen up over the entire eye. The vet has injected it with something (cortisol, I think she said) three times and they are giving her anti-biotics. Nothing is helping and she's worried he will lose his eye. Otherwise the kitten seems healthy and happy.

I was wondering about a homeopathic remedy? Does anyone know? I can't find it on the internet.

Frequent cleaning with warm water and a paper towel (new one each time) in addition to the meds. Only thing that's ever worked for us.

Thank you for your reply. I'll keep that in mind for future reference. Unfortunately, the kitten's eye ruptured and they had to remove it. So sad!

I have used eyebright tea and/or goldenseal tea.Boil and let the bags sit in the water for a good time. Then you can squeeze the lukewarm/cool tea water right onto the eye area. Can also wipe the area with a washcloth that has been dipped in the tea. The goldenseal is a good antibacterial. I forget about eyebright except that it is good for eye infections. I have used those teas AND chammomile tea(was out of the other stuff) for slight eye infections in the cat,and pink eye in me.

I saw eye ointments listed online for cats/dogs.Maybe she can get some of that for the more serious infections. If I had nothing OTC I would be trying the goldenseal tea.

Speedy healings!
