Head Cold in First Trimester

Here I've been worried about how severe morning sickness might be and how it will affect my job, and what I should have been worried about is getting a cold!

I get sick only about once a year, but I have a feeling I'm in for it with the compromised immune system and being around so many people. I'd love to hear how you all protect yourself, what you do once you do have a cold, and positive stories about it not affecting your tiny little first trimester bean!

I'm not that worried, but I have seen online that a cold can up your risk slightly for birth defects. Ack! Not what I want to think about.

So far my symptoms are mild, and I took off some classes today (I'm a yoga teacher) so that I can rest. Avoiding taking tylenol although my head is killing me.

I am a huge fan of the neti pot. It helps with colds and my seasonal allergies.
Also, if you're in a gym wipe off everything REALLY well before you use it. I was getting a lot of colds in my last pregnancy and since I work from home, I attributed that to the gym. Once I became extra crazy about equipment wipes downs and really paying attention to what I touched, I stayed pretty healthy.
nothing earth-shattering but simple tips that worked for me!
