Had my baby!! (didn't end up UC..)

I had my beautiful baby boy on Oct. 31st!!! I was at 8cm when I agreed to go to hospital that DH wanted to go to. He was too nervous and wasn't really helping me but tried staying out of my way. So without having his encouraging words to support me, I got to that point when you start doubting that you can do this and so I agreed to go. When we got there (after 2 wrong turns. LOL) I was at 7cm. I now realize that I was at an 8 when I left. I asked for the epi because that is why I went. And so there it was stuck in my head that I wanted one. I then asked them to break my water because I knew the epi slowed labor at first. Then baby came! I am disappointed in myself for giving in to the rush of doubt at 8cm at home. It didn't click that I could possibly be that far along. I was doing my hypnobabies relaxation and could easily walk, talk, laugh, finish getting ready in between waves. It was when the waves hit every 2 minutes that I started to second guess. IF, if, if, if we do have another baby, I will have it at a birthing center I had my water baby at. They have a nice big tub too.

Congrats on your new little one!

Sorry, you didn't quite end up with the birth you planned. Transition is scary so I understand what happened.

congrats momma on your birth! I can personally relate to your story, I was at 8 cm with my first too when I got scared and went to the hospital, I didn't think I was that far along either. Luckily, I went natural, but I considered the epi lol. Enjoy your new bundle

I ended up going to the hospital with ds and was hoping to at least have a natural birth but I caved at about 8 cm too and they wanted to break my water so I got the epi before they did. I understand caving! I'm so glad your baby is here and healthy though even if it wasn't quite how you planned.
