My baby is head-butting me in the cervix! Ow!

(I x-posted this in my DDC) My babe went head-down from what I can tell almost two weeks ago. I'm 34 weeks tomorrow. Over the last few days, he has been head-butting me in the cervix rather forcefully and it hurts!! I can actually feel him push down from above with his little feet and jam his head downward. OWW!!! And it's also freaking me out, making me think I'm on some kind of trajectory into preterm labour. (Plus when I mention it, ppl around me say "he's trying to get out!" ) I haven't seen bleeding or anything weird but I've had some contrax at the same time that he mashes his head against my cervix, but that could be a coincidence... I don't remember this with DD!! Does anyone have experience with this and if so, do you think it's normal even though it's painful??

I say totally normal. Many of us in the Nov DDC have been talking about this. It does hurt though.

Mae did that a lot. was probably getting cramped, now that shes out she prefers to be stretched out, not compact like she had to be inside.

I say you are way lucky that you are just feeling that now! lol. This whole pregnancy for me so far has been about my baby attacking my cervix. Hitting, punching, kicking, kicking it's head into, and scratching my cervix. It hurts so bad, makes me jump and yell "OH!" every time. Once i swear i felt it's foot go straight through to my vagina! I know that didn't really happen, but it sure felt like it. Oh and once it kicked so hard i lost a ton of mucous plug from it (like 2 weeks ago) and it even had a blood streak in it so i freaked out and called my care provider. SHe said if it happend again (the blood streaked part) to come in and get checked, otherwise it's just "normal" to have more "cervixy" pregnancies with each baby you have because things are more stretched out and the baby is consistently lower than your first ever was! lovely huh?

Yes, that's totally normal. I am on my 4th pregnancy, and with my 2nd, my son kicked and punched my cervix all the time. It hurt like crazy. Some pregnancies are just like that--nothing much you can do about it!
