I found this inspiring article on homeschooling with little ones via Home Education Magazine's Facebook , a great source of ideas.

Yeah, no... not for my 2yo. Nothing pleases her more than mommy's FULL attention. And I love having such a well-attached child (especially since my now almost-7yo was completely the opposite and profoundly delayed), but it definitely makes it hard to do anything with my 7yo.

I have, and have used, everything that woman listed and then some (including this AWESOME box of 25 Montessori-based gallon ziploc bags of activities that a mother's group did as an exchange--but are really more for 3yo/4yo). If my 2yo is among us, it's not fun unless it's a shared activity... which I appreciate, it's just difficult.

And I get what she's saying about having previously juggled 27+ students because I taught 24+ students 5x/day and because I taught electives, I had widely varied academic levels and learning styles. But none of them demanded the one-on-one attention my 2yo does.

Maybe it's just MY 2yo that's like this? I can't imagine that, but who knows. I do know mothers of other 2yos who tell me "she's quite a handful".

Sorry... do I sound frustrated?

Thanks for the article, Lillian!

Heather- I do know what you mean - I have a 3 year old who seems to need constant supervision- not like you are talking about, with just wanting my attention, but if he doesn't have my attention he's probably spreading lotion all over the living room rug, or dumping out all the salt to make a sand box in the house.... those were from today. I keep telling myself it will get better as he gets older, but honestly I am seriously considering preschool for him, so that I can have a break. However, last year I got for him the toddler curriculum from www.carolsaffordablecurriculum.com and he did that while dd did one of her lessons, and that was a big help for a few months. So maybe that would help you.
