Help with toddler holding poop

So after many many MANY threads about my DD's constipation we have now moved on to another awful problem. She still occasionally gets constipated after many severe bouts of it (involving months of being on miralax on and off and other invasive/extensive measures) now mostly when she refuses fruits/veggies for a couple of days since she is, after all, a toddler. After the last nasty constipation bout she is now holding poop. I don't think she is actually constipated although it has been about 5 days since her last poop of any significance. We finally did miralax again last night but I am not sure what else to do besides all the added flax seed, wheat bran, oat bran, blueberries (won't do prunes or many fruits) etc etc. Every time she starts to poop she screams and cries and if I try to get near her or even look at her she yells "All done, all done, no poop". She won't sit on the potty without freaking out and she pushes but she squeezes her buttcheeks together at the same time so nothing really comes out.

I am so stressed about the poop and so tired of being stressed about her poop. We have been having major, awful, stressful poop issues since she was 7 months old. How do I help her to stop holding in her poop?

I don't have any suggestions for how to get her to stop holding her poop...but I will mention that at around 12 months old my DS would literally freak out when he needed to poop. He'd act very similar to the way you're describing your daughter. I could literally see it trying to come out but he was hysterical and desperately trying to keep it in. Several weeks after this issue started we discovered he has a significant egg allergy. Within days of eliminating egg from his diet (we had been giving him eggs for breakfast) the pooping issue went away.

Not saying her issue is an allergic reaction, I just wanted to put it out there. There were a couple weeks that went by before my DS started reacting to the egg in a way that I *knew* it was related to food: His face started to get super red. His face didn't react like that at first. But I clearly remember Friday morning thinking "Hmm, his face looks a little questionable...I'm going to need to keep an eye on that." To Saturday morning thinking "Holy crap! Apparently he is totally allergic to egg!"

Good luck to you and your DD.
