beta question.

We had an awesome first beta...higher than with DS and definitely in the "it could be twins" range. 2nd one only went up 65%.

I've read all the articles...I guess right now I really am looking for some BTDT reassurances while we wait for the next test. I know what COULD happen. Right now, I need to focus on the positive...feeding stress into my belly isn't doing any good.

Do you suppose if everything goes well, and we had an u/s at 6 weeks, would it show any signs if there was a twin at 4 weeks that quit growing? Or would that be too tiny? All signs were pointing to twins initially, and we put in two great embryos.

I think that's totally possible. Do you have another beta scheduled?

I meant it's totally possible that you had two implant and one didn't hang on. I don't think you would be likely to see any evidence on an early us. Repeating betas will probably tell you sooner than an us could how things are going.

Thank you for the reply. I'm actually feeling a whole lot more sane about it now. The worst part was that the next beta wasn't for a whole week. But did a bunch of research and talked with the doctor and we did increase enough to be "normal" it just wasn't doubling. I'm guessing we'll never know if we started with two. It's all just a hunch right now.

I was oddly comforted today with a bout of queasiness though. It told me things are still progressing. We'll make it until next week. And then u/s a week after that.

It was the initial shock of seeing the numbers 100pts lower than I had expected based on my doubling rates with DS. But really beta #1 was rock star good. So even not doubling, beta #2 is still really solid.
