I saw this and had to reply. I no longer have anyone in diapers, but still buy bac out. That stuff is WONDERFUL!!! Pricey, but very concentrated. For Diapers, here is what we did. I put the bac out in a spray bottle. If you don't, you will use way more than you need to. After changing baby, I would spritz the diaper and throw it in the pail. This worked really well with the baby poop. I would spritz clothes well that got baby poop (even the early yellowish gross poop leaks) and just stick them in the hamper. Then, I would wash as usual. Often the poop was gone before the clothes were sent through a cycle. Poop needs more spray than the pee--but a big bottle lasted quite a while and was totally worth the $$$.
However, don't use this right before you launder your clothes/diapers. That would be a waste because it needs to sit and have time to work.
BTW--I used a dry pail. When I laundered, I would also spritz the bottom of the pail with the bac out. I don't think a wet pail would work too well with the bac out because it really needs to sit on the stain.
Nowadays, I use it for puke, blood, occassional accidents. My dd also sat in pile of huckleberries two summers ago. She loved those shorts so I sprayed (very well) with bac-out. I was very surprised when the stain came out. Also, my dd left a sippy cup tipped on it's side and choc. milk oozed out. By the time I found it, it was very smelly. It was in the carpet. I sprayed with bac out, waited, blotted, sprayed again. Totally came out (smell and stain).
