Rash guard or bodyglove?

Anyone have experience w these for toddlers? Do they run big/small/true to size? I'm really hesitant to shell out the money because he's growing so fast, but the pool is just too bloody cold for him. Would it defeat the purpose to buy it big so he has room to grow? Anyone know where to get them for a good price online?

We use a rash guard and I always buy 1 size too big. But I don't think it helps for warmth, we use it for sun protection.

Yeah, Rash guards won't do anything for heat--- in fact, they may make him colder. I always encourage my son to take his off when he's too cold--- the cold material next to the skin seems so clammy to me.

The bodyglove suits would need to be fairly tight (to keep the water in). Kids don't get a *lot* wider often during the toddler/preschool years so hypothetically if you got one that was simply long through the body (but you could fold it over somehow around the middle) but snug around the arms and legs you might be fine. Can you check a Play It Again Sports or craigslist and try to get a used one?

Another vote for "not gonna help with the cold."

We do hot tub - and DS likes to go back and forth between that and the pool - and then hot shower at the end of swimming. Sometimes he lasts an hour, sometimes its 10 minutes.

If you want something for warmth you'll need a wetsuit type top - you can buy them.

We use ours for sun protection. I'm for Australia so we are somewhat paranoid and people here find me strange.
