Clomid and Levothyroxine (synthetic thyriod)

Hi All-

Anyone have experiences/knowledge about taking clomid with hypothyroidism treated by levothyroxine?

I am on 75 mcg of levoxyl and am going to start 50 mg clomid tomorrow. I am concerned about interactions, or reducing the efficacy of my thyroid medication.

Thanks!

Not too sure about efficacy of the thyroid medication and clomid, but I am on a low dose (25mcg) and I have taken clomid and had no troubles. Actually, I did have my thyroid checked a month after being on 100 mg of clomid for a clomid challenge test for an IVF and it was still fine, so I'd assume that it would be fine, but I'd talk to your dr first. Everyone's body is different. Good luck to you!!

Thanks for you reply, bluyezz! I am going to go for it, I am just nervous. One website said there were interactions, but no one seems to have a problem with it...

I have to take levoxyl due to not having a thyroid (removed in 96 due to thyroid cancer) I took clomid 2 separate times once in the summer of 99 and again in the summer of 03 three months each. It was a non issue other than my levels having to be checked every 3 months while pg and then every 3 after having the kids to adjust my dose.

It wasn't an issue. I took clomid at night and my thyroid in the morning
