To the 6 month old baby mamas

I know this is a post pardum question but I dont know if any of us are looking over there anymore.
How many of you still have your linea negra?
Mine has faded a lot, but I still totally have it.
I heard that breastfeeding makes it stay longer- hormones maybe?
Just curious.
It makes me feel less bad when I look at my flabby belly. It reminds me what my body really did such a short while ago.
I figure if it takes 9/10 months to get there, I shouldnt expect it to get back before then.

I got linea nigra after I gave birth to Cecilia, for whatever reason. And then, when I exfoliated in the shower, I was shocked to see that it came off!

I had totally forgotten about mine I just checked though and it is still there but has definitely faded. Shows how much time I have to actually look at myself in the mirror! I'm probably going around with my hair sticking up and my shirts buttoned wrong too

I still have the linea nigrea, and flabby belly as well:(

Baby Arie is 6 months:)

My linea negra also exfoliated off bit by bit and was gone by about 4.5 months (DS is 5.5 months now). I still, however, have a very flabby belly (insert unhappy smiley here but it looks like we lost most of the smileys ????). I am very gradually losing the baby weight, and everybody tells me I need to be patient, but I think I'm going to join the gym soon anyway.

I'm curious how you guys are doing with weight loss? I gained a LOT in pregnancy (22 kilos, that's almost 50 lbs!), and still need to lose 8 of those kilos  (18 lbs). I still have to wear my maternity pants and I only have a few pairs and I'm really sick of wearing only those for the last year. Anyone else still in pregnancy pants?

I only gained around 15 lbs total, and I lost 25 in the first 3 months. I have gained back 5 though. greensad.gif

I lost all the baby weight and then some. I'm seven pounds lighter than my pre-pregnancy weight but I wouldn't recommend doing things the way I did. I was so sick the first two trimesters that I lost 10 lbs before gaining 20 which was pretty much all baby/water/placenta. Between that and breastfeeding I jokingly call dd my little parasite wink1.gif Despite losing all the weight my stomach still hangs out because the muscles are still stretched out. If I suck it in it's okay but I never remember to do that so I end up still looking a little pregnant. blech.

I have some questions for 6 mos PP mamas too! smile.gif

Is it true that the stubborn last few pounds come off easier after 6 mos PP? A friend told me that the body stops hanging on to some of the emergency fat after 6 mos.

Also, my hair just started falling out at 4 mos PP! I heard that that stops at 6 mos PP too. Please tell me it's true!

For me it is true. I always get back to my normal weight after a baby. It takes till they are almost one and it seems like the extra fat just stays there for a while. I start losing pounds very quickly at around the 6 month mark.

My hair fell out like CRAZY starting at 4 months. It still is now. The brushes and drain are full and even if I run my hand through, I get lots. That will stop soon.

I definately still have flabby baby belly. I'm hoping it goes away soon, or eventually at least:)

I  gained *65* pounds while pregnant. And I started off at 110, so 65 is a LOT for me. I exercised and watched what I ate too so very frustrating.  I lost a lot of weight fast, but have been at 128 for months now (my DS is 6 months also).

I have a 7 month old.  I've lost all the weight, almost exactly, but still have the hangy tummy thing going on.  No linea nigra to speak of anymore.  My hair did stop falling out so much around 6 months!

Still have a linea nigra among the flab, lol. Hair falling out like crazy (baby is 5.5 mos old). The worst is waking up and looking at my hairy pillow, yuck! No weight loss to speak of, I'm at my pre-pregnancy weight, but that wasn't so spectacular in the first place (165 lbs) I"m hoping to lose about 30 lbs by the summer, but are lacking motivation. The winter bulky-sweater blahs have set in for me.
