Moving back to our home state!

Thread Starter
Sarah here, born and raised in CT! Moved to Arizona (Tucson) in 2004 for my husbands work. Now he found a job at UCONN and we're comin' back home!!

I lived in Stratford, CT... so I don't know beans about northern CT. I need help! What neighborhoods to aim to live in, a great school for my 5 & 3.5 year-old kiddos, a doctor who won't hate us for delayed vaccinations or try to retract my son's intact penis, etc. etc. etc.!

So anything you can offer by way of advice is SO welcome!

Right now our kids go to a charter Montessori school and LOVE it. That will probably be one of the hardest things about moving ... next to trying to sell our house in this market ... *taking a deep breath*

Hey mama!  How far north in CT are you talking, and east, west, or central?  I'm assuming UCONN means the college and not the medical center, but correct me if I'm wrong.  That is in the northeast corner of the state.  We are outside of Hartford (about 45min from Storrs/UCONN) and really like it here.  We homeschool, but there is a Montessori magnet school in Hartford that pulls students from surrounding towns.  Typically, they start at 3yrs old and don't take children older then that, but they do take transfer students who have are coming from a different Montessori school if there is room.  So, maybe that could be an option. :)  There are a couple of private Montessori schools in northeastern CT as well, though I don't know what age they go up to.

Hope that helps somewhat... Families for Conscious Living CT is another great resource for finding "likeminded" parents around here, you may want to check out the board there and ask around for other recommendations www.fclct.org

Good luck with selling the house and the impending move!
