Hi folks,
looking for suggestions -
For the past three weeks I just keep getting buried under waves of exhaustion. It started when I had an unexpected period/annovulatory bleeding that started about two weeks after the preceeding period, and which lasted 4 days, beginning heavy and ending light. During those days, and for a few days after I was really exhausted and drained, prone to headaches and slept 10-11 hours per night.
I decided that maybe low iron was to blame, and started taking a prenatal vitamin (the only guaranteed GF vitamin I have) and increased my meat and dark green veggie intake, which seems to have helped some, but it is rather up and down. I have had a few normal energy days, but am still sleeping 9+ hours per night and dragging through most days.
Playing into this all, though I know not precisely how, is my endometriosis (alone incurring a higher risk of anemia, plus causing me to take nsaids pretty regularly, another anemia risk factor) and my celiac or gluten intolerant-ness (which I have been aggravating with cross contamination of late).
So, anemia seems a likely candidate to me, but if anyone has any other suggestions, I would love to hear them. I waffle back and forth on whether to ask for some bloodwork (it`ll take most of the day, and is so stressful, and I am afraid I will get a prescription for something that is not GF) or whether it would be better to wait it out and keep trying to eat more iron and keep away the dreaded gluten contamination.
this was long - sorry! but I would appreciate your suggestions for chasing away fatigue!!
