Does liquid or powder detergent matter??

Hi everyone. Getting stuff ready, first baby due next month. Been researching detergents for cloth diapers. I have a front loading machine He. We use some enviro friendly stuff from Costco that is liquid but I don't plan on using it on the cloth diapers. So many of the brands are super expensive. I found a good deal on Country Save, which according to the pinstripes and pokka dots website is one of the highest scoring, but it is powder. I have never used powder detergent before but seems like you get way more for your money going that route.

I am nervous for some reason using powder detergent. Has anyone used powder with a front loader? Is it fine? And specifically Country Save? Allen's, Charlie's, Green Mountain, Nellie's and Planet are so expensive when I compare the prices and how many loads you get. It appears by ratings they are all clean in terms of ingredients. Hmmmm....any advice??

We only use powder in our front loader and I feel it does a better job without buildup, which is bad for diapers and the washer (makes it stinky.)  Country Save is a great brand for diapers.  I use a BioKleen powder for our clothes and love it.  A lot of people use it on their diapers but the one I like has enzymes which I like for clothing stains but which can cause a rash on diapers.

Thanks for the reply!! I couldn't find Country Save anywhere locally! I bought Planet b/c I remember that website said it was really good and washed all my diapers and new prefolds with that. I think eventually when we use up all our liquid detergent I will switch and just use one brand for all of our clothes so I won't have to seperate clothes so much. Thank you for your reply, I have overcome my fear of powder detergents and am surprised by how little I really need to use!!
