coughing in 8 month old

DS is 8 months old and has a cough that is really disrupting his sleep. Is there anything I can give him/do for him? Thanks.

For my DD I do vaporub on her chest and run the humidifier at night. For younger babies you can put vaporub on the bottom of the feet instead so its not too strong for them. I also give DD a bath before bed with Eucalyptus essential oil. 5-10 drops does the trick. I think sometimes all we can do is wait for it to pass. We are fighting a nasty cough too right now.

(And yes I am aware of the recent vaporub studies. My DD likes it and asks for it, so it must make her feel better.)
