Boy, do I need help picking doll skin....

I'm planning to make one large Waldorf doll, one or two small bunting dolls and a few dollhouse size dolls and am so confused about doll skin. I am looking at A Child's Dream (I think they use Joy's type skin) and Weir (seems like better quality, perhaps). I have things to order from both these stores, so I'd like to order skin from one of these to save on shipping; unless there is a huge difference in quality and I should go directly to De Witte Engel. What do you think?
I'm lost on skin color, too. I'd like a neutral caucasian dolly (not too peachy, not too fair, not too tan. Ha! I guess I want it perfect- whatever that is!) But I suppose I could order swatches. Does anyone have advice on skin colors?
Thank you!

For larger dolls I like the DeWitte interlock knit the best. The others are ok but they don't hold up in the long run as well, especially for dolls with noses or string joints.

The DeWitte fabric cost twice as much, though, especially with the current exchange rate and the goods are about 1/2 as wide as Joy's fabric. You can't beat the quality though and for me, this make it worth the extra. They do offer a swatch card. I like the T103 the best for a health looking caucasian child. But all the colors they sell are beautiful.

The last time I purchase fabric from Weir, it was nice fabric but one of the colors had not much stretch as the others (the golden), so patterns needed some adjustment. Wholesale fabric sources and dye lots change all the time for these suppliers, so there is no guarantee that you will get the same thing twice, when you order. That's just the nature of fabric.

Thank you! You've answered my question so well. I'm going to order a bit of Weir for the smaller dolls and see if I like the quality enough for a bigger doll. I have a feeling I'll be ordering from De Witte, too! I want a really nice mama-made big dolly for dd. One that will last. Sounds like De Witte is the way to go for that.
Thanks!
