aspirin to strengthen uterus

Thread Starter
Has anyone one heard of aspirin being prescribed to strengthen a uterus? My friend is 14 w and her Dr. has told her to do this and she has for a few weeks now. I thought aspirin was a BIG NO-NO during pregnancy. Any help would be welcome.
Namaste,

In my experience, aspirin is only prescribed to women with blood clotting disorders.

Weird.

There has been some research on using baby aspirin to prevent pre-eclampsia, but there have been conflicting results.

I don't understand how it could strengthen the uterus. Sounds like quackery or a miscommunication to me.

I never heard that either. In my experience, we give it for clotting disorders or PIH. I have seen moms bleed excessively during delivery from asprin use. I would encourage your friend to get another opinion on the matter.

besides what has been already mentioned, aspirin is also sometimes recommended for women with certain immune problems. Have never heard of using it "to stregnthen uterus":
