Flu and breastfeeding

My title says it all. I was wondering what you all did to prevent getting the flu and also to prevent in passing it to your LO. So what supplements do you take for yourself during the winter or if you feel that you are starting to get sick, that are safe while breastfeeding. Also are there any supplements that you give your LO to help during the winter.

I'm asking because I was starting to feel that I might be getting something this morning, and usually I would take swedish bitters to help but I'm not sure if I can take it while breastfeeding. So I was wondering what you all did?

In the winter I take 5000 IU's of Vitamin D3 and 1500 of ester-C. During a cold or flu I eat a lot raw garlic, hot tea like rooboois, and take a hefty echinacea tincture 5X a day (Dr Schulze is my favorite). He also has some flu shots that are safe herbal boosters.

Hi Mama,
I made sure I was well rested (as well rested as is possible when you have two kids). That, for me, is the best thing I can do to keep myself healthy (well, that and eat healthy). I also got the flu vaccine.
