Definitely look into the montessori. Your situation sounds identical to ours. We checked all of the private schools in the area since the county schools will not allow early enrollment regardless of situation.
She will start with "age" appropriate activities, but if she displays a solid understanding, they will absolutely advance her to the level that she is capable of. So, she basically has to prove that she's ready. Note that this is no different than any other child in montessori (its just more of a concern for parents with kids that display advanced academic skills early on). My DD started with the basics and once she displayed a solid understanding of addition, lets say, they moved her onto the multiplication lessons.
I want her to stay with her peer group, but if she is in kindy and is ready for grade 1 work, they will simply walk across the hallway and get grade 1 lessons for her. Since the kids all work in small groups, the fact that she could eventually work on something that nobody else is would not surprise them in the least, so there is no ostercizing or moving her to a "special" place.
DD started montessori in August, and by October, she displayed efforts that were 6-12 months older than her standard peer group. She is not quite ready for kindy work, but she is doing work that a standard Pre4 would be doing near the tail end of the school year. So, I fully expect her to be doing beginning kindy work next semester.
I must say that I do like this. She doesnt know that she is advanced. She sees the older kids and wants to do what they are doing, so she is finding that drive to learn and move to the next step. She doesnt even know how old her classmates are, so there is no comparison with age, since everyone is doing something different.
