Homeopathic Influenzinum and Infants

Hi all,

Our family has successfully used the current Influenzinum 200c prophylactically for 2 years now. This year, we have a new addition who is now 4.5 months old; can she use the Influenzinum safely and follow the same dosing schedule (1/2 an adult dose, before bed and upon awaking, once monthly)?

Thanks for your input!

We do the influenzium protocol a little differently. 30c 4x a day every other week. I would have no problem giving it to your baby. Are you concerned she'll choke on it? Do you have it in tablet form where you can crush it? We gave our son homoepathic remedies when he was about 5 mos. I am trying to remember if we crushed them or if we disolved them in water.

Thanks, HRJ. We use a liquid dilution (I'm dairy allergic), so giving it to her is easy...I was just concerned about it being nosode strength (200c). I've been giving her homeopathy, mainly for gas, since she was about 5 days old.

It's funny, the APA would have us give the flu shot at 6 months and here I am worried about a homeopathic treatment!

Speaking of nosodes, have you found a pertussis nosode? When I called around, they are telling me they don't carry it anymore b/c the FDA banned it in the states.

also, where do you get your liquid version? do you have to do all your remedies liquid b/c of your dairy allergy?

I haven't found any other besides Influenzinum. I guess the FDA can do whatever they want since they "regulate" homeopathy, hmph!

I buy mine through homeopathyworks.com, it is the direct sales site of WHP (Washington Homeopathic). They carry everything...I mean everything (besides nosodes, that is) in whatever shape and strength you need. I've been very, very happy with them so far. And yes, I do liquids b/c of the dairy allergy...haven't found anyone who makes many remedies in a pure sucrose pill yet. Wish they did...

it's near impossible to find nosodes in the states without a medical degree. your best bet is to go out of the country.

Would a homeopath carry them or should I start looking outside the US? Also, what potency say for pertussis? We're having a major outbreak here.

a homeopath should have it for sure. if you have a practitioner that has the ability to dispense then you can certainly ask about getting it from them.

generally people say 200c for prophylaxis.

just saw this and wanted to clarify for future reference.  nosode isn't a strength, it's a type of remedy from a specific source.  you can get nosodes in any potency, though higher ones are the most common.  HTH!
