Help!? Currently stripping my pockets

I am trying to strip my pockets (Rumparooz) bc we have a major case of the stinkies lately.

Normally I just run a few rinse cycles, and that works fine, but this time the stink factor was too much for just that. So I tried the Dawn method. I put about a tablespoon in the wash, and now I have been running rinse cycles ALL DAY!! Every time I run another one, there are still suds! I must have ran at least 6 or 7 by now... is it supposed to take this many? Could it be possible I just have major buildup from our detergent since we have been using a new one (which I am blaming our major-stinkiness on btw )

Any one have any wonderful tips on getting the suds out so I can get these dipes drying??

I'm really sorry I don't have any advice but I will definatly be watching this thread. We used LoveyBums diapers with our last daughter and I never had build up issues. This time around we are planning to use BG with Rock in Green detergent. Crossing my fingers that we don't get stinkies.

OP, I don't have any advice, but could you share what kind of detergent you're using that you don't like??? It's always good to know what I should avoid!

I'm not surprised that a tablespoon of Dawn would cause that much sudsing. I only use a little squirt of it when I want to strip or super-clean my dipes. Even just the regular Dawn is some strong, concentrated detergent.

Try adding some vinegar. I know when you put the wrong kind of dishsoap in the dishwasher, salt and vinegar are the things you're supposed to add to counteract all that sudsing. (Someone at my old office kept doing this.)

YIKES!! I really think after reading all the 'stinky' issues Im going all natural for my CD's. I did CD 11 years ago and never ever had a 'stink' issue or had even heard of having to strip the diapers. Mine were all cotton which was all that was aval at that time. I just washed in Arm and Hammer with a downy ball full of white vinegar...

Good luck on the striping. Yeowza. I know i dont have the time or energy to wash things 5+ times. Hope I can avoid this headache.
