Raw pumpkin seeds

We have five pounds of raw pumpkin seeds. Delicious, scrumptious raw pumpkin seeds. I searched online to find out how to store them, and I'm getting conflicting information. One site said to store at room temperature in an airtight container for up to two years. Another site said to store them in the refrigerator for up to one year or in the freezer indefinitely. Other sites say do not freeze, do not refrigerate. Yet another said they must be roasted before storing, and then must be refrigerated. Ack!

How do you guys store your pumpkin seeds? (Or are we the only sillies who buy massive amounts of them? )

Thanks!

I love pumpkin seeds, and they are so full of nutrition! I keep some out in a sealed container and the rest in the freezer. No roasting or anything. Keep them raw, they're better that way!

Good to know that freezing is ok! Thank you so much.

ok, sorry if this sounds like a stupid question. but are these just pumpkin seeds you pulled out of the pumpkin, washed, and are trying to figure out how to store? i had never even thought of eating them before roasting! now i want some pumpkin seeds, lol.

Mine aren't raw (I roasted and salted them), but I've been storing them in containers and zip-lock bags.  I was just wondering myself how long they would last - though, we eat them pretty quickly, so I doubt they will have a chance of going bad.

These are like the ones you pull out of the pumpkin--we just ate all those and bought more!  I don't like them raw, but I don't want to roast 5 pounds of seeds at a time, either.  I just needed a way to store them so they don't go rancid/get stale before we can eat them.
