i dont want to give any of the docs a reason to say 'lets get the babies out'. its scary for me because ive never had this before. but i feel like a wimp for complaining about it.

ow, that looks painful!

Such a degree of swelling, by itself, is not necessarily a problem. Does swelling reduce at all with rest/sleep? If so, it's probably normal for you--and is not so uncommon at this late stage with twin pregnancies. If it's not reducing at all with sleep, you might want to have it checked out. Are you eating/drinking plenty?

i drink about 2.5 gallons of water a day. no exaggeration, its become an obscession. i literally do nothing without a 32 ounce glass of water within arms reach. even in the middle of the night i wake up and drink. eating has been normal too, although it isnt helping my freaking diarrhea much

usually it goes down during the night but this morning they are just as big and ugly. they just dont hurt...yet

i have an appt on tues and will attempt to discuss it then. usually what happens is when i have a true concern, it goes away temporarily when i go to the OB for an appt. last time they got this big AND my BP was elevated, by the time i got the to office i had literally no swelling and my BP was 120s/70s

i will continue to monitor it and my pressure. guess today is another sit around and do nothing day.

Just in case it might be helpful.....

When there are twins, there is a lot more placenta to service, so the mother needs to eat a lot more protein PLUS calories PLUS salt, to increase her blood volume so that can happen.

Anne Frye has given some very helpful suggestions for turning around the rising BP and increasing swelling that tends to happen as the blood volume drops below what it needs to be.  Here is her article about that.....

In the story of the mother with the VBAC triplets that she had at home, she started to have a BP that was creeping up also, and she gives the account of how she kept that in check.

Best wishes,

Joy
