Hey ladies..

So me and my husband aren't "trying" to conceive, but we aren't doing anything to prevent it. My last period started September 17th, and I've had NOTHING since. No cramps, no spotting, nothing. I took a HPT about Wednesday or so, and it came back negative. I didn't use first morning urine, since I figured it would show something by now.

What do you think? Do we have a good chance, and the test just missed something? I'm going to be getting a blood test soon to know one way or another, if I don't start getting positive HPTs.

By this time, you would have enough hCg in your urine that it wouldn't need to be the first of the day to show up on a HPT. However, false negatives are possible and I know more than one person who has gotten one. I think getting a blood test is a great idea! If you can't wait and want to test again though (I know I would!), First Response is a really great brand! GL to you and please update when you find out!!

WildDoula, do you know when you ovulated? Without an approximate ovulation date, there's really no way to know if you should be showing positive on an HPT. Your ovulation could have been delayed, or you could be having an annovulatory cycle - or of course, you could be pregnant, but have ovulated much later than expected, and so not be far enough along to show on an HPT.

How long are your cycles typically? Do you chart or take OPKs?

WildDoula, sorry that I don't have anything brilliant to suggest but I sure hope that you get your answer soon!

I'm not completely sure when I ovulated, but I do have a regular 30 day schedule. So my period was due around October 17th, making me almost 3 weeks late. And no, I don't chart or anything like that.
