Room Temp and Swaddling

We have a 6 month old baby girls that still NEEDS to be swaddled to sleep well. I wonder if she is getting too hold/cold though. We use the Swaddle Me microfleece swaddle and underneath she wears a footed sleep and play and a onesie. We keep the room around 70. Do you think she is wearing too much or possibly her body gets hot but ears get cold? Just want to make sure she is comfortable and since she can't tell me I thought I'd turn to other moms. Thanks

My DD needed to be swaddled at your DD's age as well. I read (think Dr. Sears?) that the babes need one more layer at night than we do. We also used the swaddle me fleece and under it I would only put cotton footed PJs; think I remember adding socks if it got really chilly. Does she ever get sweaty patches on her sheet, or does her hair get matted from sweat? Those were always things I looked for to gauge. Also, does she co-sleep with you? My DD did/does and even swaddled she could always scoot over right next to me and suck up some body heat.

You can always try one less layer and check her hands at some point at night; I always found that telling as well (maybe if/when you do a diaper change?).

Hope that helps.
