My DD is 2, will be 3 in February. She is tall and very thin and always has been. She was a happy to starve baby that I had to wake to eat until she was 4 months old to get her to keep gaining. Even now she rarely, maybe once per week will eat a good sized meal.
She grazes and refuses all fruits except applesauce and strawberries and won't eat any veggies. She has been on a kick for about a month where she will only eat spaghetti noodles with cheese. She will eat other things mainly in the meat category but no veggies at all and almost no fruit. I have actually gotten to the point where I don't even offer it because it just goes to waste and I know that is bad.
I try to hide the veggies but she won't eat them.....she says it is yucky. Just tonight I tried a recipe from weelicious.com that made green beans taste like french fries. I just spend that afternoon making her these apple mini muffins thinking that she would get some fruit that way and they were, as she put it, yucky.
I am so frustrated. I had high hopes of her eating a wide variety of fruits and veggies and she will eat noodles, Trader Joes Crackers and peanut butter. It also seems as though the more effort I go to trying to make a new recipe with fruits or veggies that she might like, the more "yucky" it is. She probably gets about 25% of her dailly calories from peanut butter because I let her eat it by the spoonful for fat and calories.
Help! My hopes of feeding my kids a well balenced meal is going down the drain!
