How to teach my 3yo to be angry in a positive way?

Well my 3yo is in an angry phase, we are trying to get to the root of the problem, he has a new little sis (she is 11mo. old) we have all been off and on again sick for 2 months, he just started preschool etc..... He has a big temper, and will fly off the handle scream kicking, hitting, and recently biting. I'm having to really watch that he not hurt the baby, but I feel I need to teach him that its ok to be angry/fustrated/sad/scared, but I'm not sure how to get him move through it and feel he has been heard, how do you handle this phase?

I will be watching this thread since this is the exact thing we are going through with our 3 yo dd.

Time outs don't work, and I don't like using them as they make me feel really terrible and on edge for the next "episode."

Hope you find some real answers. For both our sake!!! smile.gif  Hugs!
