The Fabulous One Thread Nov 8th - Nov 13 - Page 9

savah: Don't give up! A 9-10 day LP is very fixable - you really only need to gain a day or so to have a good shot. A 10 day LP is considered fine for conception, less than that is a concern. If adding some supplements can gain you a day, you'd be in the clear - and some ladies on here have gained 2 or more days on their LP just through supplements.

TTCCoC: As a few others said - a 12 day LP is great for trying to conceive. And yes, without OPKs or charting your temps, guessing that you O on CD14 is a huge assumption. Cheap OPKs (and HPTs) can be picked up at many dollar stores. That said, I DO agree that your very light periods could be a problem for you, as it implies either that your uterus lining is very thin (which could make implantation difficult) or that the lining is not shedding properly each month. I *think* - and I'm sure there are others on here more knowledgeable on this than I am - that you'd want more estrogen before ovulation to help out with that. Soy isoflavones may help, and there are probably other options as well.

Stephaniqua: Thanks for hanging out with us! We need a cheering squad this month it seems, more than ever. Not nearly enough BFPs in here!

jillybeans: I hope the soy isos and other supplments work for you! This is my third cycle on soy, I'll be testing tomorrow morning. I've never had an LP issue but I used to have completely un-noticable ovulation - on the soy, I have a much stronger O.

Attached2Elijah: I absolutely agree with your sentimental moment. Everyone on this forum is so wonderful and supportive and understanding - most people just wouldn't be able to understand what we go through, with the TTC thing. The ups and downs and how it drives us a little bit nuts! I don't know if I could do it without the support of you ladies.

Sourire: I know a lot of people who are very in tune with the world - communicating with your future children sounds completely reasonable to me. My best friend had two daughters and her and her husband decided not to have any more children. But she had always seen/felt a son around her. A couple of years later, she called me one morning and said "You'll never believe this." And I said - "You're pregnant." :) Sure enough, their son was born the following spring. He was an accident, but a VERY happy one :)

ValH: Any updates?

AFM: CD 11, temp is up yesterday and today. Tomorrow is test day. I almost caved and tested this morning, but I want to wait one more day. I want to see a BFP but I expect to see a BFN as usual. The longer I hold out, the longer I can hold on to hope that it's a BFP!

Don't give up yet. :)  I have short lps (between 7 and 10 days) and I have THREE healthy, beautiful little girls!  :D

Vitamin C may help improve luteal phase defect

Vitamin b6 and progesterone cream for LPD

overview of LPD, including some treatments

another LPD overview, from INCIID

I wouldn't use more than 150mg of the b6 as it can cause nerve damage and my appendages got very tingly at that dose.  100mg had some improvement for me.  I have had to use clomid and prescribed prometrium (progesterone..I took mine vaginally as it is more effective that way) to concieve each of my pregnancies (five total) but have gotten pregnant on five out of seven clomid cycles. :)  I will be starting my first round ttc #4 next cycle.

eta:  I'm using both soy isoflavones (150mg days 3-7) and 1000mg vitamin c this cycle to see if it helps as a last ditch effort before the clomid. I O'd at the same time as usual (cd 18ish) I'll keep you updated--currently 3dpo.  Last cycle was a 7 day lp so we'll see if it worked soon!

Thank you. This is so much information. My fingers are crossed for you and I'll be chart stalking you.

Oh, Savah!  hug2.gif  Have you tried taking a B complex to lengthen your LP?  I started this month and am hoping for a longer LP (I've been charting for three months, and my LP has varied from 9-12 days).  Others have tried progesterone, either an over-the-counter cream or a prescription from a doc.

I was going to buy some b6 yesterday, but I am still breastfeeding and wasn't sure if I could take that much while doing so.

Does anyone know how much b6 is safe to take while breastfeeding?

You can buy B6 tablets by themselves but I have heard that the B6 is better absorbed by your body when you take a B-complex with all the other B vitamins in it. An added benefit is that those B-complex pills usually have some extra folic acid in them as well.

OPK's are pretty cheap at the dollar store as someone previously mentioned, or you can buy them online for even less sometimes.

I have always taken 100mg while breastfeeding and my ob has been fine with that every time.

Crossing my fingers for you!

I have to say, this thread moves fast! LOL! I just read the last few pages and I have to say, with all this talk of turkey baby making I will have a totally different view of Thanksgiving this year shy.gif lol.gif

Hi everyone!  I'm Veronika and I'm joining you after a very wonky cycle.  I had my first PP cycle in September and expected to have my second in October.  Instead of starting A/F, I spotted for 3 weeks and only had bloody flow on the 11th.  I haven't had really heavy flow until today, so who knows what's going on?  From 11 Nov until yesterday was enough flow to know A/F arrived, but it's all of a sudden much heavier today.  I'm not sure if my body is completely back to cycling, because of the weirdness.  Dh and I have decided to start ttc in January, after our baby girl turns 1, but we won't be preventing in the mean time.  I still breastfeed and won't be charting on anything else, just relaxed bd when we feel like it.  (xposted on another thread too!)

Hi everyone!  I just recently joined the forums (and ordered Mothering magazine) and am excited to be here.  Wonderful DH and I just started trying.  So this is our first cycle TTC and we're hoping for a BFP on or before Thanksgiving when we fly home for a week.  I believe I ovulated yesterday, but I couldn't take a good temp this morning because I woke early to let out the dog. :)  I have been charting for 65 cycles so I know myself pretty well.  I ordered some early detection pregnancy tests online that got great reviews.  I am planning to test for this first time ever around Nov 21-23ish and hoping it's not too early (should be 10-12dpo).  We shall see.

This is a long awaited baby as we had to postpone trying to get medical issues stable.  We've been together for 15 yrs this February...and lucky me...it just keeps getting better.  :)

Anyway, I'm happy to be here and I wish others the best of luck in getting their BFP's.

Well, my temp spiked up today. I tested and the results are... inconclusive. At first I thought it was a negative, and then I tought I could see a faint pink line, so I made DH look at it. He's never looked at one before and he said he can see the pink line without me telling him where to look :) I'm using dollar store cheapies and I don't have a FRER in the house so I've decided to wait and see what happens tomorrow. Unless I cave and buy a FRER in town today :)

Funny thing is, the line is a bit easier to see from an angle. So DH - not me - is sitting her trying desperately to get a picture of it! I love this man :)

Thread Starter

SoonToBe, Veronika and LovingBaby -- welcome to the thread!!! Please tell us know if you would like to be added and to which "category" -- see first post of thread.  If you have a chart, include the link if you want us to post it.

Sourire will be starting a new thread today for the rest of the week, so depending on when you guys post again with this info, either she or I will add your names.  Glad you are joining us!!

LivingSky-- OMG OMG!!!!  DYING to see the pictures!!!! :)  Sounds promising!!!  :dust

AFM: CD3.  I got one of those Fertility Tests that measures FSH when I bought a box of FRER a while back and finally remembered to take it on CD3.  Poor DH went in the bathroom, came out and said "why did you take a test?"  I told him what it was for -- results are "normal" btw -- and he said "oh....I went in and saw the two lines and thought we were pregnant and I was confused because you didn't tell me."  Poor guy was in there trying to read the directions and looking for "You're pregnant" somewhere on the sheet to see if he was interpreting it right.  I am so lucky.  As I type this post while having my coffee and toast he is dusting the house.  :)

In-laws are coming today to stay for the week.  Luckily they are pretty low maintenance but since we won't see them for Thanksgiving we're doing a whole Thanksgiving spread. They are Greek and don't really do the whole turkey, stuffing, etc. thing, but my father in law enjoys it so we figured we'd make it for him.  Gonna be a busy day as I am trying to clean and reorganize a lot of the house before they get here around noon or 1.  So.....I'm off!  T

Good Sunday morning ladies!!! Hope everyone's weekend is going well.

Welcome to all of our new members! Don't forget to bold your info so our thread keeper knows where to put you on our first page! :)

Stevi: SS AF showed but I see lots of turkey babies in our future!!! I have a good feeling we're going to have TONS of December BFPs... Don't know why but I do! :)

LivingSky: OHHHHHHHHHHH! I'm excited!!! Can't wait to see pics and a darker BFP!!! Aren't you on soy too? FX!

Lauren: Poor DH, lol. Glad the results came back normal though! :) Sounds like a busy day for you! Enjoy!

AFM: CD 5 today and AF has left the house, yay! So going to the store today to get all of my TTC supplies for the month. Going to add EPO and B complex to my daily regimen (soy for 2 more days, baby aspirin, multivitamin)... and I've decided there will be NO testing unless I make it to 14dpo or my temp goes triphasic from now on... and I mean it, darnit! I'm done with the hope of evaps and then the disappointment. Remind me of this come the beginning of December, lol. Anyway, time to spend some time with the family on the only day my DH is off work! :)

bonadl2: Thanks :) I'm tentatively excited too... but I'm afraid to get my hopes up, kwim?

A2E: Yep, I took soy days 4-8 this month. 60 mg days 4,5,6,7 and 120 mg on day 8. I also took EPO up til O, it really helps with my CM quality and quantity!

HI everyone!  I'd love to join this thread if I could!

I'm currently waiting to ovulate.  I'm on day 3 of my cycle now.  I have two kids, 4 1/2 and 2 1/2 and am ttc #3.  This is my 11th cycle now.  It's been REALLY difficult. We conceived my ds and dd on the first cycle so this has just thrown me for a loop.  I just found out my progesterone is low so last month I started taking prometrium vaginally. I sort of assumed it would just work right away but no luck yet.  I'm hoping for this month!

I've seen people recommend taking B6 as part of a B complex.  Would that help with low progesterone and is it worth it if I'm already taking prometrium? My luteal phase is good (13 days) but my overall progesterone level is too low after ovulation and it fluctuates too much (my temps dip a lot below the coverline even after ovulation).  Would B6 help with the progesterone and just with overall fertility in any way? Thanks!

Please add me to Waiting to O. Thanks! :)
