Two-month check ups

How are everyone's two-month appts going?


Ozzy is 16 lb 13 oz, and 25.5 inches.

Holy. Effing. Crap.


He's a giant.

Everyone at the doctor's office now thinks I have mutant super boobs.

Wow! Go Ozzy! It won't be long before he catches up with Em, will it?

DS was 13lb 3oz and 24". Up from 7lb 2oz at birth. I expected a little tussle or at least a discussion about vaccines, but the nurse just said in a really offhand matter-of-fact way "you didn't want to do any vaccines today, right?". She must have known from DD's chart that I delay. So that was cool. And the ped. said he has the head control of a 4-month old *brag*.

She's only 23 lbs at 18 months, rotfl. The difference in growth is hilarious.

dd is 12 lb 5 oz (90th percentile) and 25 inches (off the charts...that's the heigh of the average 5-month old!)

won't have 2 month appt until dec 3. but last check at almost 6 weeks he was 14.6 lbs and i think 23-24" inches.. Can't remember exactly.

I'll find out officially the 18th but when using my scale there is a 15lb difference when I'm holding Clayton.

Thoroughly irritated that I cannot post from my phone!  I can read, I can type, but then when I click "Submit", it all disappears!

Theo had his 2 month well check today:

14lb, 11.5oz

His head only was in the 50th %tile, which amuses me since all my kids have big bodies and little heads till they are preschoolers!  Other than an ear infection (we are fighting upper respiratory nastiness all around), he looks fabulous.

You ladies will appreciate this--after giving me his stats, the nurse said, "And he'll be getting six vaccines today."  Like hell he will :)  SIX??  Just wow.  We delay/space and decline a couple, so we got two today.  But SIX?  That's insane.  She also was shocked we hadn't had hep B yet.  Yes, because my kid is sharing needles *rolleyes*.  We'll get there.  It's just not one of my higher priority vaxes!  Luckily my ped isn't phased.  But apparently this nurse can't imagine anyone not doing just as she's told.  Oh, and she "permitted" me to nurse him in the exam room.  Gee thanks.  Like I needed your blessing...

Ok people need to quit telling me how huge my baby is! Lila's downright petite compared to some of your babes :D She started at 9lb 2oz and 21.75" at birth and lost almost a pound.  She's 11lb 8oz and 23" today at 8weeks 1 day.

Annie had her 2 mo appt today...  12lbs (75%), 23.5 in (90%)  16in head (90%)

She is nearly the same size as my DD was - but in pictures she looks WAY chunkier .. not sure what thats about ..

i had a GREAT experience with the vax issue .. "will you be doing any vaccinations today or did you want to hold off a while? " :)  I did one..  then she said 'do you want to come back in a month for another or wait until 4 months to talk about it?" ..  

and on top of that, the NP remembered us. this is a really big practice and we almost never come in for sick visits ..now, i know she remembers us because i had a homebirth.. but its still nice to feel like they know us and i don't have to repeat everything or listen to crap i don't need/want to hear :)

Cora was 10 pounds 8 ounces at 7 weeks and 21 inches. She is my smallest at this age so far and it looks like she is one of the smallest of the group. My ds was a lot bigger and my  older dd was slightly bigger. Her head was in the 75% which is the smallest of my kids so far but still big for her other measurements.

Staci-- Em is sitting here beside me eating crackers, and she saw your avatar and put her finger to her mouth and said "shhhh, shhhh."  She's gotten into doing that when anything or anyone is sleeping because of Ozzy's naps, but it was really cute when she did it to your picture.

Elias had his "2 month appt" today (he's 10 weeks).  He was 12lbs 4.5oz and 24inches.  We had a bit of discussion about his reflux which is getting worse lately and decided that I would try to food journal, try removing a couple other things from my diet and re-evaluate in a month.  I absolutely love our new family Dr.  No pushing reflux meds right away if I was good with more elimination and natural comfort measures.  The nurse had set out the immunization stuff for the Dr and she came into the room carrying it saying "you weren't planning on doing immunizations were you?", what a nice difference.  Especially since we just switched and the midwives followed us until  6 wks pp so she had only previously met me once.  She simply said let me know if/when you want any or have any questions, and we'll go from there.

I however have had some discomfort still from birth despite only suffering small abrasions on each side.  We've tried dtd twice and it really hurt the back of my vagina.  She did a check today and said it look like the scar tissue from my good tear with my first had been irritated by Elias' birth, and that I haven't given it sufficient time to heal (ie resting) so its still irritated and looking sore.  So no dtd, cutting more foods, and trying to rest and relax.  I'll very likely do much better with the first two then the last.

Kellan had his 2 month check up today. He's 13 pounds 7 ounces and 24 1/2 inches long. No pressure about the vaccines from the ped but the nurse is always shocked when I say we're delaying (as in indefinitely, probably never). 

We're going to see a pediatric gastrointestinal specialist at the children's hospital Monday. I've tried an elimination diet and removing dairy helped a little but poor little guy was still screaming and arching and having lots of trouble sleeping. It's soo hard to watch. He's doing great on Prevacid but my ped is going on maternity leave and I want to have someone to manage his care.

on Sunday @ 8 wks even Niairah was 11lbs 14oz and 23.5 inches long

She's my biggest baby. My 1st baby born over 7lbs, and just the largest at each age/stage so far.

That is healthy but SO not huge.  Ozzy is well over 17 lbs now and I'm really jealous of all of ya'll's smaller babies.  I mean I'm glad that he's big and I don't  have to worry a bit about him gaining enough, but it is HARD lugging around 17 lbs of baby all the time.  Harder than carrying his 23-lb sister, because even though she's a bit heavier, she HELPS me carry her, ykwim?  It will be easier once he can sit up, so that I can just throw him on my hip and carry him around that way.  But having to hold him a certain way while carrying him is killing my back.  At least he's finally taking to the mei tai.

Mine is "Only" 15 lbs but I understand that so much! I get arm aches from holding him (and that's all he wants is held).

We had our '2 month' appt. on Monday the 22, so Hannah was 2.5 months old.  She weighed 14 lbs, 1 oz and was 25.5 inches.  At 3 months DD1 weighed over 18 lbs, so Hannah seems so tiny.  They are both extremely long and Hannah is still in the 95% for both height and weight, but she seems so tiny.  She is wearing 9-12 month clothes because she is so long....

OMGosh yes! You can fit a whole nother baby in Lila's sleepers she's so long lol! She was in a 6-9mo sleeper yesterday and I was shocked that it fit so well.

My goodness you all have such big little ones!  E's 3 months now and only weighs 11lbs 3.5oz, and is just a shade over 24 inches long!  I joke that she's my supermodel baby--long, skinny, and leggy.
