I just got this ferning microscope, and was surprised to read the information that continued ferning after ovulation indicates pregnancy (or pcos)

I mean if this is true, who needs a hpt? And you would know you were pregnant or not just a few days after o...

Im 6dpo today, and dont dare look at the ferning microscope lest it not have ferning.

Can i still be pregnant if it doesnt show ferning?

(for those who dont know, these microscopes indicate when you are close to ovulation if your saliva shows a ferning pattern, indicating an estrogen surge)

This is very interesting. Can anyone explain what would cause this before implantation has even taken place. TBH, I am quite doubtful. If this really worked, I cannot help thinking we would have heard of it by now.

Interesting.

Good luck. I will be the a tester and keep watching my saliva scope after ovulation.

Hesperia, yay, that would be good.

Well, im 10dpo, and on most of those days, excluding yesterday, i have had almost a full ferning pattern on the microscope. My pre ovulation pattern is spotting, and you are supposed to go back to you pre pattern, unless...drum roll...pregnant...(or pcos, or something else entirely)

Anyway, judging by how i feel, i do not feel optimistic that i am pregnant.

BTW... You do not need a special microscope to see the ferning in your saliva, any microscope will work.

As for using it to detect or confirm pregnancy, I haven't a clue. :)

The maybebaby website, another brand of ovulation microscope, is adament that this cant be used to test for pregnancy. Some women may get ferning in their luteal phase, but htis may indicate estrogen dominence, rather than pregnancy.
