Vermont schools?

We are on the West Coast, but are considering a move to the East Coast. So far, Vermont is on the top of our list. We have a lot to figure out, but one of the things that seems really hard to nail down is the school situation.

We have homeschooled in the past, and may do so again, but in case we don't a good middle and high school is very important to us. I love the NEK, but realistically we'd probably end up closer to Burlington. I don't really want to be much further south of Burlington.

Any thoughts on specific schools, specific areas, what to watch out for, what to consider?

What is your overall impression of Vermont schools?

Thanks!

Middlebury has good schools.  There are also some great independent schools in the Midd area-  North Branch (MS), and Gailer (MS & HS).
