Can't believe I did that

I went to the grocery store this morning. I was loading the groceries into my car's trunk as usual and decided why not toss the diaper bag in there with them. My arms were quite full with my 2 y/o. Less than 30 seconds after I close the trunk I realize why I never put the bag in the trunk: I keep my keys in there! (My maternity pants have no pockets.) So I find myself locked out of my car.

I went inside and used the phone in the store (since my cell was in my bag in the trunk) to call my hubby. He said no problem. The sucky thing is that he works 45 minutes away from where we live.

I guess it's better it happened now rather than two months ago when the temp was usually in the triple digits!

Oh no!!! Gotta love preggo brain. Might be worth checking into AAA or see if your insurance has roadside assistance. We have USAA and for $6 more every 6 months we get lock out assistance (plus towing, rental car, battery jump, etc) that saved our butt when I was in the middle of nowhere Montana and my then 4 yr old locked my keys in my van.

Sounds about right. Last week I killed my car battery leaving the lights on. Today I left my keys hanging out of the front door DH found them there a couple of hours later.

My depth perception is SO far off, I had no clue I was that close. I am so embarrassed, I had never hit anything before.

I'm pretty sure that we do have roadside assistance (through USAA, in fact). I called hubby and mentioned that and he said it'd be quicker for him to drive to me than to call roadside assistance.

That is why I waited on hubby the other day when I killed the battery, since I was home I figured it would be faster. I have to say though, I was pretty impressed the last two times they dispatched someone to pop my locks. Both times we were away from home though (1200+ miles), so no spares.

Man, we are all torturing our cars this pregnancy, aren't we!?

Ironically, hubby has now misplaced his keys entirely. They disappeared sometime between when he came home last night and when he left this morning. I've been looking around the house to no avail. He mentioned that perhaps he tossed them in the garbage can with the trash but, of course, the trash guy came a few minutes before this theory was mentioned! (If he had put the garbage out last night as I requested, then this likely wouldn't be a possibility...)
