Bugs?

Two issues I've noticed in 5 minutes of being on.

1.  At the top of the page to the right it says 0 new messages and underneath it says subscriptions.  The lines are too close together, they are borderline overlapping (both on Safari and Firefox).

2.  I just tried to insert a smiley and got stuck.  The thing opened up with the smileys but I couldn't scroll down to see all of them and I couldn't get out of the page (wouldn't let me back page either).  I'm assuming there was a button to close the screen but it must have been where I couldn't scroll to.

I find the new look hard to look at.  Everything is muted and fuzzy like I've got fog on my glasses.  On the main page showing all the boards, the lack of colour makes everything run together. 

I understand upgrading services, like adding photos to posts and such but why does there need to be a visual revamp?  Everything was fine before.  It's not like it's been made prettier, which would be pointless anyway.  It's a message board, it just needs to work smoothly and be easy to read.

It isn't just small changes, we completely changed the software.

Part of the problem is that there are issues with VB that we have had that we haven't been able to get resolved. Also the newest update of VB doesn't have all the features we wanted. For any sort of development we have to wait quite a long time between software releases or rely on random individuals for hacks who we might not necessarily know anything about, that isn't something we are entirely comfortable with. We have had multiple functions we tried out and lost because a developer decided not to continue it. It is just time to try something different.

There does come a point when one needs to change or become stagnant. We couldn't find the kind of changes we needed with VB. We now have many functions that we haven't had available before and more in development. It may be hard to change at first but I do feel this is what we need. I am really happy that our members can now use wikis, it will be perfect for all thsoe resources people worked so hard on.

There are some issues but MotheringDotCommunity is massive and really not an easy transfer. Many of the kinks should be worked out soon.
