Baby girl born last night 45 minutes after getting in the birth pool. Â I had her solo! (with DD1) Â

had been crampy for the past week or so. Â slowly getting ready for birth. burning in lower back. Â got stronger and more intense day or two ago. Â today uncomfortable and even painful. Â stop at the fabric store then went to the parkto walk. Â went out for mexican food to try if something spicy would help. Â meet with sister and mom. Â ready to go home. Â things getting uncomfortable. Â home at 5:20 PM got in the tub with Oscar while Matt inflates the pool and starts filling it. Â watched the simpsons. Â Oscar starts getting in mama's space so Matt takes him out in the car to maybe get him to sleep. Â katie stays and watches the simpsoons quitely. Â puts another on when one goes off. Â she gets me ice. Â i lean over the side of the pool as it is still filling up. Â tucking my bottom in a bit and relaxing some helps.. Â i'm not fighting it. Â i'm not resisting. Â i'm not making any trouble. Â i let it be. Â it is what it is. Â i don't feel a huge urge to push but i'm eager to get things done so i push with a few contractions. Â it feels right. Â i'm not telling myself its too soon. Â just doing what feels right. Â i start to feel like i really need to poop but can't. Â i straighten up on my knees. Â i feel the head comming. Â katie gives me a wtf look. Â i tell her we'll hae a baby soon. Â i push and feel baby crowning. Â head starts to emerge. Â i push back with my hand to give myself time to strech. Â i feel my baby's hairy head and i'm rubbing it. Â i flip over onto my back and lean against the side of the pool. Â head out. waiting for the rest. Â seems like itll never happen. Â born! Â i pull her up to my chest. cord is around over her shoulder but not around around neck. goes from purple to pink quickly. Â i wrap her in towel. no crying. Â looking at me! Â trying hard to suck fingers. Â nails are so long! Â kate gets the pink hat for her. i look to see the sex. Â girl. Â i double check. Â i show kate and she is pleased. Â (she very much wanted a sister and would talk to her in utero about it often) Â 6:48PM when i look at the clock. Â i think of how i could call matt. Â maybe i'll email him. Â i'll save the cord cutting for him. Â katie offers me some lip balm from the birth basket. matt, shows up around 7:00PM Â katie tells him "she has a vagina!" though i told her to let it be a surprise. Â she said she really wanted to tell him. Â oscar says,"cute!" "baby" and "-gina?" (as in the baby came out of your vagina!?") Â he's been telling the baby to come out for sometime. Â i wait in the pool to see if the placenta will come out. Â i want to get the baby dried off. Â matt ties and cuts the cord. no crying. baby peaceful. Â she has sneezed twice by now and cooed a bit. Â matt takes her and wraps her in a new towel. Â i stick a prefold between my legs and put my robe on. Â i feel much stronger than with my other births. Â i go and pee and wait for the placenta on the toilet. Â matt brings me the baby to put her to the breast. Â she suckles! Â she's such a good suckler. Â the placenta comes out soon after she starts nursing. about an hour after the baby (i think) Â feels so good to birth the placenta! Â yay! Â waddle to bed with my little one. Â matt starts emptying the pool and burries the placenta (we'll put a fruit tree over it later) Â comes in and weighs the baby but the scale says 11lbs so we'll need to fund a more accurate scale. Â now (10:24PM) she's sleeping in my arms Â

Your story is so inspiring to me and reading it makes me so excited to have my birth. God bless your wonderful peaceful little family
