Waldorf Doll Help - Camden Rose or Kathe Kruse Sweetheart Doll?

Hi mamas, and thanks for your help! I'm trying to choose a first doll for my little girl for Christmas and am currently torn between 2 different ones. Our budget is tight and I think these 2 dolls are the best options in our price range. I'm hoping that a mama out there may have purchased one of these for her LO and can offer some feedback for me.

I'm looking at the Camden Rose dolls on Palumba's site - http://www.palumba.com/product/camden_girl_dolls/432/?catID=53

and also the Kathe Kruse Sweetheart Toddler Doll at Magic Cabin - http://www.magiccabin.com/product.asp?section_id=2004&department=1502&search_type=category&search_value=6201&cm_val=&cm_pos=&cur_index=&cm_type=&pcode=610

I am kindof leaning towards the Camden Rose doll, because they have a redhead available (just like DD) and I like that she doesn't have a permanent cap on like the Sweetheart doll. But I can't find any reviews or feedback online about these dolls, i.e. do they hold up well, easy to wash, etc? The Sweetheart doll has several good reviews on MC's website.

TIA for any help and feedback you can offer!! BTW, DD will be almost a year old on Christmas.

I would say the camden rose doll!  I love it and palumba is the best IMO:)  I have seen the camden dolls IRL and they are great!  I will be getting my 1yr old one for Christmas.

Those both look great, I don't have any personal experience with those particular dolls, though.  We have a Kathe Kruse baby doll, though, and we really love it.  My one thought would be -- is one more cuddley than the other?  I'm thinking that the Kathe Kruse one might be squishier than the Camden Rose doll.  Most waldorf dolls are stuffed very firmly, depending on the age of your daughter, she may actually prefer a squishier doll.  Just a thought.

I bought a Camden Rose doll for DS about 6 mths ago. He loves him, he's very cute and well made. His clothes are fastened with small velco tabs which don't hold up to constant dressing and undressing. But other than that I think they are good value dolls and one day I'll get around to making some doll clothes!

The camden rose doll is squishier then most waldorf dolls from what I remember. op you can always call palumba and they will be happy to answer any questions:)

My dd's KK doll is pretty much wrecked after not quite 2 years of play. She lost a pigtail a long time ago and there is a hole where her nose was. The one I made her (with no previous doll making experience) is holding up better.

I really would love to get my son a Camden boy doll. They're so cute and they actually kind of look like him :). I would prefer to make him one, though, if I ever get around to it and get the time!

I personally like the look of the Camden Rose doll better.  I'm not a fan of the Krauss feet.

I just wanted to follow-up and let everyone know that I decided on the Camden Rose doll. We got June, the little redhead, and she is beautiful! She is very well-made and really, really sweet. I can' wait to give her to DD for Christmas! Although the KK dolls are cute, in the end I felt a lot better ordering DD a toy that is fair-trade and helps support a growing community. Thanks to all of you who provided feedback, it's much appreciated :)

Our doll arrived today. We got the blonde boy, Charlie. I was going to gift it to my son when we go to Grandmas for Christmas....but I couldn't wait. I gave it to him right away and he loves it!  It is so cute, beautiful, and I feel connected to the women in Peru who made it.The women who make it are hearing-impaired....so by buying the Camden Rose doll, you are supporting women with disabilities gain self esteem and economic self sufficiency. I love that. Thanks for inspiring me to get the doll.

A beautiful doll with everything I was looking for.
