New reaction or lingering? Questions about ED

I started the elimination diet on Monday but am not seeing any change at all in DD.  In fact, today she almost seems a little worse. The eczema is still torturing her and red weals are reforming on her tummy, her eyes are still dark and shiny, red and puffy. She is still crabby and sleeping more than usual.  Is it too soon to see results and are these lingering effects from a rough weekend or am I still eating something that is causing a reaction?  Should I go total elimination ala Dr Sears to see if that helps? She is miserable.

Hmmm...so it's now been 3.5 days, right? I'd probably expect some improvement, but I've definitely read that improvements can take longer than that, and especially dairy and wheat can take longer. I looked at your older post to see your ED list. It looks like it's eliminated all the top 8 allergens plus corn, right?

It's entirely possible to be sensitive to foods on that list- ds is sensitive to sweet potato, even when I eat it and he doesn't. So you could still be eating the trigger food.

Are you taking any supplements?

If it were me, knowing what I know now about EDs, I think I'd keep on the current one until it's been 1 week (no cheating!!!). If you decide to do a TED, if you don't see clear improvement in a week, stop it. Food sensitivities can get worse with nutritional deficiencies (I know from experience).
