TMI odd question...

So i don't remember this happening with DS. I was sitting on the floor waiting for DS in the bath and I felt a ton of pressure down there. It was uncomfortable so I felt down there (I was wearing PJ pants) and I was incredibly engorged. Like I don't think I'm even that swollen DTD...

Has this happened to anyone else? I'm not sure what to make of it.

i have had times that i was so engorged i jokingly thought i might not be able to bring my legs together! its really pretty amazing. sometimes it happens after DTD, but also just for no particular reason. not sure what to make of it either, but i dont think we should fret

I've had this happen in both of my previous pgs (not in this one... yet?). I've assumed it was due to the slow down of circulation and blood pooling and whatnot- like how feet get swollen if you have been standing a long time. I took it as a sign to up my hydration and lay down or at least, put my feet up.

yes, I have had that issue with this pregnancy and it hurts a little at the end of the day on one side. I can't feel anything to make it hurt, but it's like pounding almost like when something swells. In the morning I am fine, so it must be just an end of the day thing. Last pregnancy I had swelling in my feet in legs, so I guess it just decided to swell somewhere else!

I have also had a lot issues with hemmoroids too and I am not even constipated, so it just may be where the baby is sitting this pregnancy.

Yup, I've had that. Relatively uncomfortable but it goes away in a few hours, at least for me. I think its pretty normal for that area to swell up during pregnancy. Increased blood flow and all that stuff. smile.gif

Exactly. I've have this and heard it was increased blood flow to the area. It was it's worst after pushing.

I have been having similar issues, but only after DTD. Since I also have some mild varicose vein issues it sounds like I (and maybe you too) am experiencing what is called "Pelvic Congestion".

It's basically a varicose vein type issue where the valves in that area don't function properly. Blood pools and you get the horrible and often uncomfortable feeling.

I'm not sure there are any treatments are ways to avoid it. Maybe compression hose? I just have to keep off of my feet until it goes away greensad.gif

I'm taking Butcher's Broom for circulation and may be adding Rutin as well, at my midwife's suggestion. It doesn't ward off the PC issue, but it sure does help my legs.
