Hi Everyone,Â
I am 5 DPO.Â
My husband and I had sex one day before and the two days following ovulation.
Yesterday I started having nausea and dizziness upon standing/changing positions. My BBT also dropped from 97.8 to 97.33.Â
Today I have had continue nausea, dark and enlarged nipples (erect a lot more), and my BBT was 97.56. I have also experienced a stuffy and sniffly nose today as well as a dull backache on the right side (though I am sure those two things are in no way related).Â
I also had (this afternoon) some bright red spotting when wiping. It lasted about an hour.Â
Could this have been implantation, or is it too early for pregnancy signs and symptoms?Â
Thanks!

5dpo is NOT too early for implantation! So that COULD be it! Unfortunately, no way of knowing until you find out you are pregnant or not.
Â
Implantation is possible anywhere from 3dpo (because it takes that long for the cells to mature enough to be able to implant... it happens later than that because it takes that long for it to get there) to I believe around 12dpo (though in reality it would be "up to 24 hours before your period is due, or 12dpo, whichever is earlier")
Â
However, most happen between 5 and 10dpo, with the average being 7-8 so thats when they tend to tell you it "always" happens. But as we know, theres no "always" when comparing our bodies (or each pregnancy in the same body) like that!
Â
Good luck! Cant wait to see how it turns out.. so of course let us know!

How early you should test depends on some factors
Â
How cheap your tests are, how sensitive your tests are and how crushed you will be to see a bfn even knowing you could still get a bfp.
Â
Â
Personally, I started testing at 6dpo most cycles. I didnt get my bfp until 13dpo with DD2, even having tested with two different FRERs before then. And about 15 ICs.
Â
So... you can start whenever you want. When will you get a bfp if you are indeed pregnant? Well, no way of knowing. It depends on your own body and this particular pregnancy. You could, if everything worked out that way, get a bfp tomorrow if indeed you are pregnant (my earliest bfp was 6dpo with DD1 so I hold that as the earliest possible. Ive seen a few others at 6dpo but none earlier than that yet) or... you could get it the day your AF is due. Or if you are unlucky, a week or so later like some (rare, mind you) ladies.Â
Â
So yeah, take that into consideration and determine when you think would be best to test.
Do you know what brand of test is generally the most accurate that early on?
Â
I would also hate to waste money on testing too early, so even though it is killing me (and I'm sure I will be buying a test soon), I want to wait until I have a good chance of an accurate result.
Â
My AF is not due until the 26th of this month.
Â
Also, today my BBT stayed at 97.58. Is this too low for implantation to have occurred?
Â
I have kept with the same crappy nausea and backache, as well as the sniffles and creamy discharge. But then again, I'm already convinced that it is too early for all of these symptoms. What do you guys think?

I'm a bit confused
You said you were 5dpo (6 now I guess?) and that your temp dropped. Your temp should go up after O - not down, except for maybe a brief implantation dip, generally only one temperature/day. Also, if you are 6DPO know, then you ovulated on... November 5th? And AF is due November 26th? You have a 21 day luteal phase? I know I must be misreading something somewhere, but I can't figure out where!
Â
97.58 is pretty low for a post-O temperature, are your temps normally that low after ovulation? Everyone's body is different, so if you usually "run cold" then that temperature might be just fine, but if you typically run at a higher post-O temp, I'd think maybe your dates are off somewhere.
I am completely unsure as to my luteal phase, much like you! That's what makes this complicated for me.
Â
Last month my luteal phase was 19 days long. I ovulated on CD10, and started my period on CD30.
Â
I have a thirty day cycle. I ovulated this month on CD9. I am now on CD15. Tomorrow makes CD16.
Â
My ovulation day temp was 97.00
Â
Since then my temps were
97.6 Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â 1DPO
97.8 Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â 2DPO
97.6 Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â 3DPO
97.3 Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â 4DPO
97.58 Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â 5DPO
97.58 Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â 6DPO
Â
Lower temps like this are generally normal for me. Last month I had a four day rise after ovulation, and then three temps that were very low, then sort of sporadic temps. So that they have stayed above 97.5 aside from that day 4 drop is unusual for me.
Â
So, I'm confused as well! I sort of need help figuring all of this out! I'm also still curious as to whether or not I could have symptoms this early.
Here is my fertility friend chart.
Â
I'm not sure how to share it. Maybe this will help!

The link doesnt work. I forget how, but someone else can tell you how to correctly link it.
Â
Its really doubtful your luteal phase last month was 19 days, its more likely that you got your O date wrong. Which could be the case here too... having a short dip before O is common for some women, including myself.
Â
Generally luteal phases will not be longer than 17 days with ovulation correctly pinpointed.Â

hmm you are only on cd15... thats around normal ovulation time for most women (especially for one whose cycle is usually around 30 days long). Apart from the wet cm around when it said you Oed... I dont agree with it and have a sneaky suspicion that your temps going to go up tomorrow.
Â
Some women do get spotting with ovulation... that could explain the bleeding. Just to be safe, I suggest getting some BDing in now!

I agree with MaerynPearl - based on that chart, I don't think you've ovulated yet. FF is a geat tool but it is not infallible. The chances of having a 19 day LP are incredibly slim - not impossible, but VERY unlikely. Are you able to show your last cycle on your home page as well? With temperatures like you describe, I'd think it was anovulatory. That kind of cycle usually throws FF for a loop, and FF ends up picking the spot that looks most like ovulation based on temps alone.
Â
If you are indeed O'ing as early as CD9 and then having a nearly 20 day luteal phase, I'd be tempted to talk about it with your doctor. That screams hormone imbalance to me - I wouldn't think you'd have enough estrogen in your system for long enough to get a really good ovulation. Maybe something like Soy Isoflavones or Clomid would help even out your cycle?
Â
As to the original question - can symptoms happen at 5dpo? Yes, they can, based on what I've seen and heard. But, I don't think symptoms at 5/6 dpo are reliable indications of pregnancy. A lot of women who are TTC are very aware of their bodies (myself included!), and so we notice symptoms that if we weren't TTC, we probably wouldn't notice at all. So it becomes hard to tell what is actually a symptom and what is something we just hadn't noticed before!
Â
Anyway, I don't intend any of this to mean you aren't pregnant! But I do think some more BDing at this point might be a good idea, just in case you haven't ovulated yet. With your erratic temps, I'd think that OPKs might be a good option for you to really pinpoint ovulation.
Thanks for all of the input. I definitely appreciate the help!
Â
I have actually always ovulated that time in my cycles, though my cycle lengths have fluctuated from 27-30 days in length. I've also never ever had bleeding with ovulation, but I know it is possible. Maybe this was the first and only time.
Â
My temp today was 97.60, so it did stay steady, which is a huge change from what it normally does. Usually it is all over the place (with a few more small dips) after ovulation.
Â
So, perhaps you guys are right. But, I'm still holding onto the hope that this could be it!
Â
According to my most recent testing, I'm ovulating and reproductive organs are working very well. I've also had good hormone testing. So, I guess we shall see!!

I only ever bled at ovulation once too. My last cycle. Im still waiting for first PP AF now (and hoping it doesnt come for a long time as i am 6 weeks postpartum, but even EBFing I got it back on time with the last two...)
Â
Not to say that was a sign that I got pregnant... but I have heard of other women saying they finally got pregnant a cycle they bled at ovulation.. perhaps due to having a stronger than normal hormone levels surrounding that particular ovulation? Could also explain the other symptoms you have been having.
