Late-Nov. EDD mamas' thread - Page 3

I went to the chiro this morning and my synsibus pubis (sp?) is finally moving - he guesses I'll have the baby Sunday or Monday.  Ha!  That would be the earliest I've ever had a baby....we'll see if he's right.

I hope those contractions mean something, luckiest!  I have pretty much constant BH these days and I'm not sleeping well, either.  I haven't had any serious contractions, but have been crampy off and on.  I'm starting to get to the end of my tether.  I'm going to walk to pick up dd1 this afternoon - I haven't been doing much walking lately - so hopefully that helps grind baby's head into my cervix and get something going.

Oh, I'm 40+2 today.

I'm 40 weeks today.  The last 3 days straight have been consistent, sometimes pinchy/painful contractions every 5-15 minutes, no matter what I'm doing.  Luckily, I am still getting good nights' sleep, and can sleep right through them for the most part.  But damn, I'm getting impatient!  I'm not even that uncomfortable (although I am desperate to give birth to get rid of this hemorrhroid I have greensad.gif), but I am getting sick of wondering whether my husband should go to class or work or if I'll go into labor.  He stayed home yesterday and I felt bad all day that he missed work and I didn't have a baby.  But now this morning, he went to class (45 minutes away) and now I'm nervous I'll give birth too quick and he'll miss it!  Grr.

I'm having the same problems -- I know what you mean about having to turn over every 20 to 30 minutes. I cannot wait until I can sleep on my stomach again!

Me too - I am so uncomfortable at night.  I'm not getting a good sleep.  Plus, this morning I woke up with a headache and a sore throat.  Ugh....

totally with you on the hip thing.  not only do i have to roll over every 30 minutes, it takes like ten minutes to actually GET myself rolled over.  i have to hoist the belly with one hand and grab onto the headboard and scootch and scootch and finagle the pillow between my knees and fix the blanket and then it takes SO long to get back to sleep.  and then i have to toll over again and then i have to pee.  so yeah, not a lot of restful sleep happening.  but i guess they always say it's practice for a newborn.

Exactly this. It is like the weight and baby are crushing my hips together and every 30 minutes they need a rest and break. The belly, the blankets, the pillow, the constant urge to pee all contribute to extreme night time frustration!

I am really starting to feel like I'm trapped in this pregnant body for life. I'm 40w3d so I'm probably just being overly dramatic.

wow, ya so I am not alone... I am feeling like I am going to be preggo forever like some of you!  I am just going to try and be patient.. I keep reminding myself that once he is born, Thats it, the joy will be here, but a lot of work, I am going to try and Rest in knowing that I can wait! He will be here before I know it. Oh happy Day it will be !!!jumpers.gif Oh another happy thing Just found our that my sister that has been trying to get Preggo for 5 years is going to have a Baby through adoptionheart-1.gif  on Dec 9th that means that she could Possibly have a Baby before me... Wouldn't that be a little Crazy.. It took her about 8 months to get the Grip that I was having another. We never thought that she would be getting a Baby so Soon!hearts.gif

how are you all dealing with thanksgiving?  are you planning to cook?  we earned a free turkey through our grocery store's promo (spend x amount over x weeks) so we are going to try somehow to roast it.  i usually go all out with pies and side dishes and such, and i am really hoping to do so again (hello postpartum leftovers!! :D), but it's so hard to have the timing of everything be so uncertain.  i figure i will get all the food tomorrow and we will cook as much as we can, and if we have to wait for my mom to get here to cook next sunday (the 30th, my edd) then we will cook when she gets here.

We decided not to do Thanksgiving at all this year, which sounds kind of sad when I write it out, lol. My mom isn't hosting and we're on the outs with DH's sisters, so there's nowhere for us to go, and I'm not up to cooking a whole meal just for me, DH, and our 5YO! Plus we're gluten- and corn-free, so I couldn't even order things...I'd have to make it all myself. Hopefully next year we'll have a plan. :)

We also decided not to do Thanksgiving this year.  My mother is close by, but I really don't like her very much and I don't want to deal with the stress of seeing her.  His fathers side of the family is two hours away and I don't want to be two hours away on my due date.  His mother is flying in from Florida and wants us to go to her family celebration if the baby comes by then.   I don't like the idea of taking a newborn around 50 people.  So, I think he might make a nice roast and not a turkey and some mashed potatoes.  Then we can cuddle and watch movies and eat pie.

Awww, I'm sorry to hear that some of you won't be doing a Thanksgiving this year, but I hope it turns out for the best and you have either a nice quiet family day at home -- or perhaps a lovely birth that day!  We normally spend T-Day four hours away with DH's parents, and the men hunt most of the day.  Not this year!  My parents are coming to us; we're doing the turkey and a couple simple dishes and my mom is doing the rest.  I'm excited.  And, if it happens that I go into labor, my parents will be my kids' caregivers during that time anyhow, so we'll be all set.

I was having the same problem. I felt like an old dog the way my hips hurt so bad. Try sleeping with a pillow between your knees. It has really alleviated the hip soreness for me. I too was asking for hip massages all the time. Hope you get some good sleep!

DDCC - Not my hips but every morning I wake up and my knees are killing me.greensad.gif

I am ready to be done as well.  Before thanksgiving.  But mine is purely selfish in that I just want an excuse to stay home.  So here is my plan.  Tuesday night eat super spicy mexican.  Wednesday morning put DH to work on getting that baby out.  (we did a trial run and got some really great contractions going!).  Then hopefully baby comes sometime soon.  I have a little menu planned for staying at home.  We are having duck, mashed potatoes, green beans, pickle wraps, and faux pumpkin pie (we don't have a pumpkin- so squash it will be!).  I figure I can handle making that even in early labor.

okay.  Had contractions every 10 minutes for 2 1/2 hours then they died out.  How frustrating.  I sure hope they come back soon!!!

This was me three nights ago.  Every 5 minutes for about an hour, every 10 for another hour, then nothing since then.  Pretty frustrating.  And two nights ago I woke up with soaking wet panties and thought for a moment my water had broken, but it was all me, haha.  I'm still amazed at the amount of watery discharge my vagina is capable of producing.  TMI, sorry!

But I'm 40 weeks today!  The real thing is coming soon no matter which way you slice it!

How's everyone doing?  I am 40+1 and on what I hope is the tail end of a nasty cold.  I had no voice on Friday, so I was really hoping not to go into labor then!!  My head is still full of snot (um, sorry, TMI) but otherwise feeling better.  DH is great with taking the kids;  they are swimming at the Y right now so I can rest.  He tries very hard not to complain, but I know that being post-EDD is hard for him...he dislikes the wait and all the questions from co-workers.  As for me, I'm kind of just enjoying these last few days of my pregnancy.  I've been making Christmas stockings for the kids and it's still hard for me to wrap my brain around the fact that I'll have THREE kids soon!

Still pregnant. I am due either today (accounting for cycle length) or 11/30 by my last period. So I am trying to be patient but I am not! I've been having contractions more frequently the past couple days. Friday they picked up and got about 7 minutes apart then I went to bed and they must have stopped all together.

My husband is also getting very anxious, he calls and asks if I am having contractions or if I am in labor. I promise I would call him first. His coworkers are also very excited and keep asking about me. He is off the next two days so if the baby would come then it would be really nice. He is ready to have some time at home.

It is hard to be due at the end of the month, it feels like everyone already had their babies and are busy with them so our DDC is not as chatty.
