What to do with big 11mo and car seat?

My DS is really big for his age, I'm not sure how tall he is right now, or how much he weighs, but he's in 24 mo clothes.

We have him RF in a Graco MyRide 65, and his feet are now touching the back of the seat/hanging off the end of the carseat. He rides with his legs a little bent, usually he crosses them to get comfy. Is this ok and safe? Putting an 11mo FF just seems really wrong to me, but he's a super tall kid (DH and I are both very tall)

I am sure that other mama's with more knowledge will chime in, but YES, please keep him rear facing.  DD is over 30 lbs, and 37 inches (very big for her age) and we have her rear facing.  My seat RF till 40, so she will stay RF until then.  I don't know about the Graco, so check the specs, but most seats will RF until at least 35.   It is completely safe for their legs to touch the seat.  They will make themselves comfortable... DD has her legs hanging on either side of the seat most of the time.

Much easier to repair broken legs than broken necks and backs.

Yes. Legs touching the seat is in no way unsafe.

Yes, the MR will go rfing to40lbs.  But there must be 1" of hard shell above the child's head as well.  Most kids will outgrow the MR by height before weight.

Yep, definitely stay rear-facing... and btw you have chosen a great convertible seat for doing so!!

Thank you so much everyone!! I feel much better now. I really did NOT want to have to turn him. He has some room to grow before his head hits the top of the seat. He has really long legs though!! My DH and I have been worried about this. We had to move him to the convertable when he was about 7 mo, because he outgrew his baby seat.
