Hi Mamas,

I am 38 weeks and DH and I are still discussing names. Can you give me your opinions? Our last name starts with a "J":

Girls

Bess Ann

Dorothy Ann (after my Grandma)

Myla Ann

Boys

Isaac William

Isaac Francis

Josiah William

Josiah Francis

Any other boy names? Both Isaac and Josiah are in the top 100 right now, and I'd like something a little less common...

I also like Josiah, though. It doesn't strike me as overly popular. :-)

I love the name Dorothy (was my top choice for a girl's name - but we'll be having a boy) as well as naming after someone special, esp. family members.  And it goes nicely with Ann.

Isaac Francis is very classy in a nice way.

Also think top 100 is OK, but top 10 not so cool.  Don't know where these names sit, but I was surprised Isaac was that popular. 

Samuel is also a nice name (but I think also in top 100).

Dorothy is perfect. Old fashioned but not trendy like Claire and Charlotte.

I'm glad to see 2 votes for Dorothy because that has been my favorite name since the beginning, especially because it was my grandmother's name. I don't know what I think about Myla, but saw it on DH's list and thought I'd put it out there. I like Ezra and maybe Zeke if short for Ezekial. Right now I am torn on boys' middle names: William is DH's name and Francis is my dad's name. I am leaning toward Francis because baby will have DH's last name and my dad doesn't have any sons to carry on his last name. So at least we could carry on his first name.

Dorothy was my grandmothers name as well :)  I also like Josiah William.

I agree. I prefer names that mean something and/or are for someone special, so my vote would be for Dorothy Ann and Isaac Francis.

I love family names, so I really like the Dorothy.  Would you call her by Dorothy or do you plan on using a nick name?

Josiah has always been one of my favorite boy names.  Does one of the middle names have more personal meaning to you than the other?
