Do You Own A Laminator??

Thread Starter

I am majorly craving a laminating machine.  I think I would get a lot of use out of it with four kids and an OCD husband. wink1.gif

Do you own one?

Do you feel it's worth it?

How fast do you typically go through pouches?

Amazon has a Scotch one on sale for about $30-something which looks good.

Help me decide if I should splurge for it. smile.gif

I have a laminator, an inexpensive $30 one. I'm involved in a lot of local arts and music projects and workshops and I bought it mostly for that: for laminating posters and signs and re-usable informational brochures and such. I have occasionally used it for homeschooling but we're not really a flashcard / worksheet / curriculum type of family so I don't find I use it much for homeschooling things. It does the job well. How fast you go through the laminating plastic will depend on what you're using it for. I use maybe one pack of twenty-five 8 1/2 x 11 sheets every couple of years. Pretty light use.

LOVE my laminator...  i make lil activities (matching games, reusable grocery lists my kids cross out w/ dry erase markers, abc/number cards for scavenger hunts/etc)  i also laminate/hole punch my fave drawings from my kids and put them in their "book" (binder)...  they love this and i dont worry about them destroying it while they read them...

I have three.  Ahem.

Costco has/had a deal on Purple Cows laminators for like $18 or $19.  Reason I have so many?  Is that the cost of extra pouches (not even counting the laminator) is worth the $18.  :D  I've only done a few pages and a bunch of 4x6" recipes that work fabulously.  It's been fun so far.

Have one and really enjoy using it.  Little games for Math I have laminated, makes them last a lot longer.  Just laminated the calendar for the kids room and other odds and ends.

No, but I want one!  I never seem to think about it when I have extra money, though.  I've used the laminating sheets, but I don't really like those.

I LOVE my laminator.  I have one from Sam's and get a pkg of pouches there when needed.

I have one I got at a local Japanese store. Ive had it for a year and have gone through one box of pouches (100 in each box). Im suprised how much I actually use it (lessons, reuseable to do lists, reuseable worksheets at times, file folder games etc)
