Dictionary recommendations

Thread Starter

I need to get an old fashioned dictionary (or two).

My 5th grader is actually finding need to reference one (fairly frequently) when she isn't near a computer.  I am thinking a pocket dictionary.

My 2nd grader is needing one simply to learn to use it.  I was thinking of a student version for her.

Any recommendations?

I actually think the Oxford Advanced Learner's Dictionary would be a good choice.
I bought one years ago when taking an ESL teacher certification course.
