Much slower.

The changes look pretty good, but I have to tell you that the *whole* site is about half as fast as it used to be. I don't know if its just more info to download because of the new system or what, but trying to surf around MDC is at least two if not three times slower than it was just a week ago on the old system. I'm sure it doesn't make much of a difference for most users on highspeed, but for those of us still on dial up or cell phone or satellite systems, it is definetly noticeable...

Much slower here too, on dsl.

So slow I don't hang around long anymore.... confused.gif

dsl here, much slower.  a bit faster if you go to settings and select to blank out the avatars.  i wish more posts fit on one page- any way to shrink the font?.  it seems like this look would be really annoying on the laptop i'm hoping to get.  i'm tired (and my wrist is sore) from clicking and scrolling down over blank areas- short posts made by folks with lots of info under their username, etc.

Mine is super slow as well.  I've got cable internet and am on either a brand new laptop that has Windows 7 with IE 8 or on a desktop with Windows XP with IE 8.  Both are equally slow.  Before the switch, things were much faster.

Top-speed cable internet here and it remains oh so slow... on all of our computers :(

That's good to know. It's so crazy on my end that once I get to the fifth or sixth post on a thread, the avatars from the first two have finally loaded and my whole page bumps back to those posts. I have to continually scroll back down because the page keeps jumping as things load.....OR sit and wait the 30 seconds for each page to load completely.

Why is there SO much blank space under each post???

I'm running ubuntu 10.10, and my main browser is opera 10.63... we have cell-phone internet which is moderatly faster than dialup. But browsing here FEELS like I'm on dial up.
